My Experience with Betcoin.ag and Playbetr.com: A Cautionary Tale
I created my Betcoin.ag account on March 2, 2022. I initially deposited $1,000 and started betting on sports, primarily football and basketball. Over the next year, I placed bets intermittently. The limits on Betcoin.ag were not very high, so I explored Playbetr.com, a sister site with higher limits. I registered on Playbetr.com on December 31, 2022, and made my first deposit of $4,000. Subsequently, I deposited another $1,000 to $2,000 on Playbetr and another $1,000 on Betcoin.ag, bringing my total deposits to around $7,000 to $8,000, all in BTC. Initially, I had no issues on either site and focused on NBA betting.
My luck changed, and I started winning bets on both sites. Despite placing different bets on each site, I experienced no problems until I attempted to withdraw my winnings: 0.65 BTC from Playbetr and 0.21 BTC from Betcoin. Both sites requested KYC verification, which I completed by uploading my driver's license, selfies, and proof of address. My accounts were fully verified, and I awaited my withdrawals.
The next day, I was unable to log in to either site, or if I could log in, I had no access to any account features. Both sites blocked my accounts simultaneously without explanation. I received emails from both sites accusing me of fraudulent actions and stating that they had the right to terminate my account and suspend payouts. Surprisingly, they offered to return my deposits, which I found laughable.
Email from Betcoin.ag and Playbetr.com
Despite numerous emails and attempts to reach out via live chat since January 3, 2023, I have received no response from either site. Each time I contact them through live chat, I am told to email for more information, only to be ignored again.
Betcoin.ag and Playbetr.com have publicly claimed to be transparent and fair, yet my experience and the experiences of others suggest otherwise. I am now questioning why I have been scammed out of 0.85 BTC, worth nearly $20,000. The fraudulent actions they listed, such as syndicate play, match-fixing, and using devices or software to place bets, do not apply to me. I have only placed fair, normal NBA bets.
Here is the list of fraudulent actions they claim I committed:
Syndicate play or collusion with other players
Match-fixing
Late betting
Strategies aimed at unfaithful winnings or advantage play
Arbitrage/corridor betting, use of forking services, or surebet/valuebet services
Fraudulent actions against other online casinos or payment providers
Chargeback procedures or denial of payments
Other types of cheating
Providing incorrect personal data during registration
Bankruptcy in the country of residence
Suspicion of money laundering or funds obtained by illegal activity
Use of a device, bot, or software to place bets or interfere with transactions
They have not provided any evidence or explanations to support these claims. I am confident I have not engaged in any of these activities. NBA betting, being a major global market, makes it impossible to cheat as alleged.
Despite their offer to return my deposits, they have ignored my acceptance of it. I have seen other users contact Curacao courts and lawyers for similar issues, and I am prepared to do the same. I refuse to let these scammers get away with this.
