Move to Hawaii

Move to Hawaii

So I was stationed in Hawaii 30 years ago. Last night I decided to move back there. I’m now on the plane.

I figured I’d stay out here for somewhere between a month and the rest of my life. Not quite sure if I go AirBnB, hotel, get an apartment or what. Thoughts?

I’ve been on this site for 20+ years as NicksDad1970 and a different rnrrnr. Not that it matters but hi all again.

This could go really well or you know

GL. No poker in Hawaii, but it's sure pretty. You might want to post in the Travel forum.

Sorry about that, it’s been several years since I’ve posted and didn’t know about a travel section.

Seems rather impulsive. What prompted the sudden move?

If you're too careful, your whole life can become one ****in' grind.

I salute your move to Hawaii.

No worries. Just figured you'd find more interest there. It's here, BTW.

On the other hand, flying to Hawaii without a plan of where to stay, how you’ll get around, source of income, or knowledge of where the locals can be violent can also lead to quite a grind.

Homeless in Hawaii is still homeless.

I was stationed here 30 years ago and have always wanted to come back. Although I haven’t thought about it in years. Kids have grown up and parents have passed away.

I was in a Florida for a few years and one of my options is actually cheaper than back to Florida. Ive had issues with alcohol and some drugs from time to time . I might move into sober living for a month or two and go from there.

Well first off I don’t work and have lived here many years ago I know to respect the cultural differences and be wise. As far as how to get around I’ll hold off on a car. My plan, as I was flying here, is to bus it or get a scooter for now.

I like to tell people that I'm from Hawaii. It's what my fake ID used to say actually.

Tulsi Gabbard is a surfer and chill for a 40ish chick; I bet she'd let you crash at her place. Tell her I said hi.

So I found a good place for me right now. IÂ’m at a halfway house. IÂ’ve been exploiting a bit. Last night I got on the bus and fell asleep for almost 2 hours. Kind of funny. I had to catch a couple different busses to get back home.

As far as a cool chick IÂ’m down to meet anyone. I could always use another friend. Especially since I donÂ’t know where pretty much anything is after a 30 year absence.

Oh today I got my first tattoo today. A sleeve here I come.
