Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

I’m looking forward to The Diplomat. Keri and Rufus are great.

Glad I slept on this show since I'm about out of stuff again. Just started it yesterday and it's really good! I thought it was going to be far more serious, like Homeland, but it's much more like The West Wing in that regard. And smart as hell too! Only halfway through the first season and I'm loving it!

Binged The Diplomat already. Could have used a couple more episodes to pad the season. Too much story for 6 episodes.

Well, I mean it's like a long Black Mirror episode, the concept has been done, it's a bit different though.

Indeed, all concepts have been done before, but the direction of the movie was extremely well executed, as was the camera ; incredible movie, tbh

I rarely think that a Netflix show has too few episodes, but even season 1 should've been a full 10, or even the old 13.

Other than documentary series. Those are usually overly bloated.

Anyone check out Mr. Throwback on Peacock? I'm 3 episodes (out of 6) in and it's really good. It's from one of the creators of Happy Endings and stars Adam Pally and... Steph Curry??

The plot is that Adam and Steph are basketball friends from grade school and Adam was actually the better player but due to his dad's (played by Tracy Letts) lie that he was a few years younger than he actually was, his playing career was over. Decades later, Adam owns a failing memorabilia shop. Hurting for cash, he goes to see Steph, who plays himself, and tries to steal his game worn jersey. Caught in the act, he covers for it by telling him that his daughter is dying and Steph, being the good guy he is, wants to throw a huge charity basketball game. Everything falls off the rails from there. It's pretty freaking hilarious with some great cameos.

That was one of the better season enders I've seen in awhile. Best since Severance, easily. Season 3 can't come fast enough!

Looks like there's an adaptation with Fassbender of "The Bureau" coming soon, maybe later this month. Great news.

Recently, I've enjoyed "Disclaimer" and "Penguin" the most, but it is a great time for all of television. And it seems like about 7 episodes per season is a sweet spot that a writer can make a tight gripping show without too much fluff.

I hated Disclaimer after the first episode but was totally hooked after the fourth. I like it when shows go that direction and not the opposite.

Fallout is pretty darn amazing I am only 2 episodes, which were directed by Jonathan Nolan as well as the ensuing one, but this looks to be epic indeed, a bit like WestWorld was initially

First two episodes of the Jackal are pretty good, although Eddie Redmayne seems a bit miscast.

I hadn’t even heard of quite a few of these. Lots of good stuff coming!

I just watched Disclaimer episode 3.... Damn, that was hot.

😮

Wife and I are watching Your Honor and are two episodes into season three. It's a decent show and very watchable but there are some scenarios that are so outlandish we just laugh at them. The scenarios are significant to the plot line but we just mentally move on from them and say whatever. The show is good enough.

Oh just you wait! I think it had 3 seasons overall.

Netflix putting on Tyson vs Paul on Friday.

It gets more outlandish/implausible?

Wow, how do you have access to season 3 when there are only 2 seasons? lol

Hulu this Thursday is dropping Say Nothing, based on the award-winning non-fiction book about the IRA Troubles in N. Ireland in the early 70s and the later revelations about what happened to a mother of 10 who was 'disappeared.'

FT gave it 4/5 stars, I'm super excited for it. And I can't rec the book highly enough.

Could’ve sworn it was 3…. And to ncboiler…. Keep going lol

Finally started The Penguin. First episode was damn good. Farrell and Miloti are both amazing.

Guess Farrell got bored of being the very handsome Irish guy.

Three hours a day of prosthetics is pretty gnarly way of doing it!

Crazy thing is that’s probably the worst episode
