2-7 Triple Draw Day 2

2-7 Triple Draw Day 2

Day 2 of the WSOP. About 120 left and 90 paid. At the 5K-10K level. Hero has 75K, Villain 40K. Average stack is around 125K

Hero is MAWG, perhaps a bit nerdy looking...Villain appears to be a 70 year old...on to the hand:

Villain opens the cutoff, hero defends the BB with 532.

2/2

Hero makes 87532 and bets. Villain raises. Hero?

This feels similar to the thread I recently posted here, except I was 3 handed to the 1st draw. Gist wax the same though, what to do OOP with a bad 8

I could envision a few ways this hand plays out:

1- hero 3b, and call a 4b. This is the only scenario in which I pitch the 8 right away

1b-hero 3b, then pat if he just calls. Checking or betting after 1st draw depends on whether villain is pat or draws

2-call the raise and pat, then evaluate based on villains draw. If he’s pat then chk/call and draw

I think all decisions are close here and probably don't matter much in theoretical terms. I think the lead is good, but we could also check raise. We could also just call Villain's raise or or we could 3 bet. With your read and the tournament situation, I'd probably just call.

What happened next?

I did call. What now? Are we patting, or breaking? Is it obvious?

ALWAYS patting. You have #11 here. You can't break just because you got raised one time in a 2:2 spot.

I would pat here and I think you'd need a pretty strong read to break here.
