The Great OOTdoors

The Great OOTdoors

I've been meaning to start a thread like this for quite awhile now, and I figure since I've been cooped up in the house

i'm sure if i took enough acid that'd be one hell of a photo

here for the L25 discussion...

I'll have two, please.

It’s mid October and the summer in the desert is still raging. Decided to head to the norther mountains where it’s only in the 80’s.

There’s a creek that I have been wanting to locate a rumored third spring that contributes to it. I’ve been to the other two. People have told me of a third but apparently, you have to really want to get there. It’s not easy.

Let’s get started - sorry, I’m still a **** picture taker but these are better than the javelina. And even the bear though not as exciting as her.

Trailhead - let’s get rolling

Next time I am around here, this summit will be my destination - I’ll need to plan a path-

Here’s the little creek -

Uhh, is this the spring? I hope not.

Ah, this must be the spring everyone told me about. It is very healthy. I was going sit in it for a while but chose not to disturb things. Had a snack and contemplated the trek back. Very beautiful and remote spot. I wish I was a trail camera guy. I’d plant one here and see all the wildlife that show up here for a drink.

beautiful country az

anyone in here a gold bug that goes searching thru panning or metal detector?

Quick pre-work hike to greet the morning sun.

👍

I'm "outdoorsy" in that I like drinking on patios.

as do a majority of people alive on this earth

Took a nap here and hiked back after sunset.

beaut

I’m tired. Gotta love the desert though. There are some flat stretches.

Spent a few days exploring the trails of Antelope Island near Ogden, UT. What a splendid place. I did 46 miles of trails over three days. Saw a couple of skittish Big Horn Sheep, Antelope of course and hundreds of Bison.

I don’t take many pictures but this one felt like it should be a postcard. This Bison was just doing his own thing all by himself. And he was a big one.

I assume you tried to pet it. That always seems to work out great for people in Yellowstone.

Wow, that is nice!

I'll be in/around SLC Mem Day weekend, plan on doing some exploring, not so much hiking, though. Wish I could get my trusty KLR650 up there, but on SWA, m/cs don't fly free.

This will be my third late-May SLC trip in 4 years. Always love how it's late Spring in the valley, but still winter on the mountains.

Also that Pink Light in SLC.

My point...

Great shot. (The previous one.)

Especially in Spring. They're extra friendly when they're trying to woo females.

My point...

the shoulder seasons of apr/may and sept/oct just so happen to coincide with peak nature and smaller crowds because school
wonderful time to travel around alpine altitude
and shame on the slick slc planning commission for ever allowing a building to obscure a wasatch or oquirrh ridge

I finally got around to securing a permit to backpack the Vermilion Cliffs. Spent four days in an incredible place. I drove up to Zion National right before and planned to spend a couple of days there. It was so packed with people I only made it a day. So made my way back down to Vermilion.

I offer only a couple pictures as a teaser. If you want to see more, get off your ass and go outside. J/k I’m a **** photographer and take few photographs. Mainly because I forget.

Over the Colorado river -

In all its glory- in three different lights as the sun rose in the sky.

Forgot all about this thread.
To whoever was asking about rock sliders I ended up with RCI's

We had our company meetings in Colorado Springs at the end of April and I drove up from Austin and took a week off after and drove around southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.

No idea what is going on with these images, I've tried uploading and hosting on multiple different sites and they won't show up no matter what I do
