Shouldn't There Be a Cheese Thread?
A thread for all things cheese. My favorite is swiss. In omlettes, on sandwiches, in my ramen. Grilled cheese on rye
Oh baby
Just discovered this thread. Can't live w/o cheese. I love raclette, but my favorite cheeses are the even stinkier kinds -- that Livarot sounds fantastic! We were in Normandy recently and my husband surprised me with a cheese/cider tasting. Amazing cheeses. Ironically, one of our favorites was a local NeufchΓ’tel -- my husband hates American "cream cheese."
I discovered Murray's La Tur recently -- I ate the whole thing with a spoon π
I'm envious, thethethe. We live in the country (in America), and I'm lucky to find a yellow sharp cheddar nearby.
For Xmas, MtMother1 gifted me some $$ (eCard) to a local new-to-me cheese shop that I still have yet to visit. Planning on hitting it this weekend if I can remember to do it. I'll try to document and post a TR if (ETA: when!) I go :-)
hey az if you like the dank cheeses try either or both cypress grove humboldt fog goat or world award winning rogue creamery rogue river blue

Thatβs awesome, my wife is from Normandy area and a big fan of cheese and dairy. NeufchΓTel is something we should eat more of but donβt. I can a 200 gram heart shaped piece for 4 euros down the street.
Red, I've heard of the Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog but have not had the opportunity to taste either yet. Maybe this weekend, if the shop has some available.
There is a high-end grocery store in town (AJ's) that has a pretty good spread (intentional) of cheeses that I also haven't explored very much. Mainly limited to the marinated moz balls, which were delicious.
Knowing this thread exists may be enough to get me out of the house to get some Cowgirl Creamery Red Hawk and Cabanzola tomorrow. Perhaps my two favorite fancy cheeses at the moment.
Not very fancy (hard to find fancy cheeses anywhere near me), but I discovered borganzola the other day. Delicious.

Produced by Zerto in Canada, it is a hybrid cheese designed to combine the characteristics of soft-ripened, creamy brie-style cheese with the pungent, savory notes of Italian blue-veined Gorgonzola.
