Is anyone else following the Idaho murder case? I first heard of it sometime in November from former Big Brother winner

I found a link on YouTube and watching it now. It seems to be alot of new info from what I can tell. Just even more incriminating stuff for BK.
It's so obvious he is the killer. He should just go for a plea deal.
That Dateline episode was really informative and interesting. Lots of new info not previously revealed. It was really nicely laid out in the timeline of events.

-saved photos and videos of the murders on his phone. Over 60 times.
-BK's sister suspected him of being involved and mentioned this to the dad
-parents were zip tied when the police came to arrest BK

The plea deal is massive news. I'm a bit surprised it took so long to get to this point. The amount of evidence against him was enormous with very little room for doubt.
I'm not sure about the legal process regarding a plea deal. I get that it was done to avoid the death penalty. But is a confession going to be part of that? Or will there still be claims that he is innocent and just plead guilty to avoid execution?

I'm not 100% positive but I believe before a plea deal is accepted the defendant has to give a full confession.
I believe I heard this particular deal does not require him to give details on why he did it or a confession. The victim families are pissed as they wanted the death penalty. They will be urging the court to at least get a full confession.
Change of plea hearing tomorrow 7/2, if all is approved, he gets 4 consecutive life sentences with no parole.
Also, even if it went to trial and found guilty, then the jurors would have to vote on death penalty and if it was anything but 12-0 then he would get the same sentence he is getting now anyway, and jury is unpredictable anyway, even for the main trial guilt.
The deal is actually better in the long run, even if the families are angry. It saves them the pain of having to endure appeals and he would have spent years and possibly even decades on death row anyway.

The way you state this as matter of fact is amazing. Yeah, go write the families and tell them what is best for them and how they should feel.
I wish there were more terms in the plea deal like providing the location of the murder weapon. I heard that BK wrote out a statement of his version of the facts and signed it and that should eventually be available to the public.
It looks like he will be sentenced on July 23rd.
I am hoping he can be open to speaking to law enforcement about the crime and his motives so that they can learn from this case. And also for the victims families to get some detail and closure about what actually happened.
I also heard Steve Goncalves talk about BK supporters or "pro-berger" who are online claiming his innocence. I never knew there was a group like that thinking that there were any legitimate alternative suspects. Sounds really weird with all the evidence pointing at BK. Just the photos found alone on his phone are really telling (thumbs up selfie and black hooded selfie) along with saved images about news relating to the Idaho 4 case.
I've followed this case since it happened in Nov 2022, so it seems like a bit of an anti-climactic end result with the news of the past two days about the guilty plea. At the same time, it makes sense with the mountain of evidence that we already knew of.

Ya it makes sense that there would be some ulterior motive behind supporting BK's innocence rather than having it based on evidence. And no matter what the issue there are always people who want to be conspiracy theorists.
Did anyone else follow the conclusion of the case?
The life imprisonment sounds like a huge injustice if the guy is just going to live out a life of watching tv and playing on a tablet device in his cell. If he gets murdered in there that would be a more just outcome.
I recently saw a video talking about how there was not a limit put on BK to stop him from profiting on the crime. It would be ashame if he was to monetize his crime in the future.
Another notable thing was the police saying there was no tie to BK and the Pappa Rodger Facebook account. Just because they didn't find a tie, doesn't mean it wasn't him. The account is right up his alley with being curious about the case and engaging with others to discuss it. Also, they found evidence of him taking steps to scrub out history on his devices to hide his tracks. His car was cleaned very meticulously and his electronic devices were scrubbed.
