Saw a flocked tree in the personnel office today. When I exclaimed in disgust they told me "no, it's a Halloween tree." Sure enough, when I got close the ornaments were skulls, etc. Still an abomination, but at least it's a clever one.

I had a gf once who's family did a Hanukkah Bush every year. I guess for the kids.

Somebody's got to be the ******* who honks just because.

nice honkers

a hint: squing your eyes and imagine the skin tone shape as an aquatic animal

A week late is better than never, I guess

"There should have been only one!" - The Highlander, in response to the gawd-awful sequels and spin-off series.

The first movie isn’t even that good. Highlander lore has always been better than any of its execution. Queen’s contribution is probably the best bit of the franchise.

Upcoming remake should be fun, though.

Yes, I'm looking forward to what they fill in/flesh out in the remake. Story base has so much potential.

I have 6 more flight legs this month.

Over/under on the total number of hours I will be delayed?

Number of flights cancelled?

I was delayed about an hour this morning but I don't think that was due to lack of staffing so we will not count that.

where you headed?

previously recommended by my FIL and happened to find myself today at the sandwich shop next door for lunch, not able to go inside before my one oclock

no idea what's on the menu

Did 4 legs last week (PHX->SLC->FCA and back again) with zero issues/delays. The poor bastards that were on the FCA->SLC before mine (3 flights daily) were still there when I left, though. Mechanical, not administrative/staffing.

Might need to post some pix in the Great OOT Doors thread. Weather was insanely good in the 406 thru Friday night. Then Sunday it started snowing. I got out just in time. Homie don't do snow.

Watching the baseball game in Milwaukee tonight. Score Book Annie (or whatever the hell her name is) is there keeping score and, as usual, showing off her boobs. Sitting next to her tonight, also keeping score, appears to be Ozzie Osborne.

What are you doing? How much time did you get to spend at Glacier? Let me know when you're in Dallas if you want to meet up for some low steak poker or something.

MtMother1 lives in Flathead County, so I'm up there usually at least once a year. I stay with MtBrother1 on Flathead Lake. We did do a quick trip to Glacier during shutdown. Nothing gov't related was open, but the park was accessible. We didn't go past Apgar Village and Lake MacDonald, though. No hiking this year, Mom's knees aren't so good anymore. Good stop on the way was at Glacier Distilling in Coram. Highly recommended. Picked up a bottle of Bearproof Huckleberry Whiskey for my boss and a bottle of Huckleberry Cream Liquor for the house (should be awesome in hot chocolate!) Of course, we stopped at the Huckleberry Patch in Hungry Horse (no relation to Mark Goone - I asked him) for some huckleberry ice cream on the way back to Kalispell.

Another great day trip was the (formerly) National Bison Refuge, now operated by the Consolidated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation. Great views of the Mission range and St. Ignatius/9 Pipes. Bison, elk, antelope and some blacktail deer all present. Also now operated by the CSK, formerly Kerr Dam below Polson and the Polson Farmers market was another good 1/2-day trip before the weather turned.

Seriously, the weather Tues-Fri was perfect early Fall weather. Highs in the 70's, clear (no smoke!). Like I said, by Sunday, there was snow falling (no accumulation in the valley at least while I was there)

My grandparents homesteaded along the foothills of the Flathead Valley and I've been going there since I was born, though I never actually lived there. My brother moved there in the mid-80's and my mother moved back in the mid-90's at least part time (snowbirds) while my grandparents were still alive.

Still hoping someday to maybe live part-time there myself, but can't seem to pull the trigger to make that happen.

I love huckleberry stuff so much. My sister lives in northern Idaho, so anytime I visit her I try to make sure it's during huckleberry season so we can go do some picking, lol. I bought some huckleberry syrup to try in my coffee, but it's just not the same as up there.

So all these "legs" you're doing are for pleasure rather than work? Or are you just trying to hit some threshold for keeping status?
