I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream

Yeah Mobland’s weekly release has annoyed me. Am gonna delay watching for a few more weeks at least

The whole series kinda annoys me, I don't know why I just can't get into it and I love this type of shows.

I think it's Pierce Brosnan, I see him as James Bond not a mob boss lmao.

I’m hoping that episode 2 and beyond improves but maybe not? As per my post above … I couldn’t work out if he was aiming for eccentric and scary or if he was attempting to make his character comedic?

I thought he’d have been able to be a quietly ruthless and really scary mob boss and Helen Mirren could be a really good calculating Matriarch but I thought they were both really quite weird in the first ep

The Narrow Road to the Deep North starting today on Amazon.

Miniseries adaption of the Booker prize winning book by Richard Flanagan. Should be great if it can do justice to the book.

Jesus, not sure how it could do the book justice. One of the all time greats. Also extremely bleak

looks like very good production quality - like terrence malick's thin red line

The Diamond Heist - Three part documentary by Guy Ritchie

In 2000, a group of London criminals plan an audacious heist: ram-raid the Millennium Dome, steal diamond and escape by boat on the Thames, but the police are surveilling them.

Finished first season of The Agency. I enjoyed it and there’s been enough separation from when I watched Le Bureau that it didn’t seem at all repetitive. It’s well acted in the main and well produced - I didn’t have quite the same ‘omg I’m watching something utterly incredible’ that I remember from the original but it was still very good

8.5/10.

Because I’m a sucker for it, I’m tempted to immediately rewatch season 1 of Le Bureau now to compare

Just finished season 3 of Yellowjackets. There are so many words to describe that show. Unhinged, barbaric, disturbing, and just overall hard to relate to. But I enjoy watching.

I can’t imagine being in a survival situation like that. And fully believe it would **** you up beyond belief.

Just got Netflix again. Two dudes from decent shows kind of ruining it by maybe unconsciously trying over doing their Danny Mcbride act are Shane Gillis in Tires and Mo in his Palestine thing.

Shane Gillis is great but Tires is awful.

Havoc

Tom Hardy has reached Matt Damon stage for me, where I will watch anything he is in, mainly love it and if not...still enjoy it. Havoc was at the lower end of that range for me - watchable if you didn't try to think too much about it and really quite impressively violent. One of the more violent films I've ever watched and the art direction/cinematography was interesting....almost felt AI generated. Really thin plot and the support acting was typically awful as a lot of these star driven Netflix movies are. But mindlessly enjoyable nonetheless

Watched that last night. Didn't hook me right away, but the visuals and violence kept me in. I guess I would recommend, if you are into that. I don't think it'll win any awards for acting or plot, though.

Speaking of Hardy, really looking forward to Taboo S2.

Is there any indication that this is actually happening? They’ve been saying “next year” or “soon” for the better part of a decade.

The first season is incredible, have watched it half a dozen times. It’s really a unique piece of media.

He's basically confirmed it.

The star of Guy Ritchie’s MobLand shared a highly stylised painting of a ship flocked by crows sailing towards the horizon, a thinly-veiled reference to his character and the trail of death that follows him, along with a not-so-thinly-veiled reference: the song ‘The Inexorable Advance of Mr Delaney’ by Max Richter, composed for and prominently featured in Taboo season 1.

Eagle-eyed Redditors even noted that Hardy initially posted a version of the image with the text “Taboo season 2” accompanied by a hat, two ace of spade emojis, as well as the tongue-in-cheek tag @sonofhorace1814, before deleting this original and throwing up the current image (which has been disabled for comments).

yep. def. ai in there, plus really bad overall for a tom hardy film (like him too)

I feel like a sucker but I'll be watching. I don't know how they keep making the same old formula fresh and interesting, yet somehow it works.

Man Mobland is good. Really wish they released more than 1 episode a week.

I am far behind on this season of Andor, but I saw many on X praising the 3 episodes drop last night, especially episode 8 and 9 (both 9.8 on IMDB), last 3 episode drop next week.

Poker Face and Criminal Minds Evolution are back tomorrow.

I guess it's better than the other star wars shows, but it does kind of rely on some Christopher Nolanlike attempt at sensory overload to build up tension rather than honestly tie the plotlines together ahead of the climactic scenes

Conan mark twain award Netflix special had some solid jokes. 7.5/10.

Had the Conan award show recommended to me IRL last night. Thanks for the reminder!

Let put it this way, if you consider 7/8/9 a movie, I would easily rate it the best SW movie since Empire.

With one 3 episode movie to go, Andor is set to go down as the best SW story ever. Better than the Original Trilogy. Especially if Gilroy got a chance to re-cut and paste Rogue One.
