Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream
The final Superfan episodes of The Office were just released on Peacock.
I watched the first 3 of 8 of Wonder Man on Disney, I like is so far, probably because it's not typical so far. All 8 are out.
Free Solo was great. He seems like an interesting, albeit extreme, person. And and as a viewer, I'm as big a sucker for this stuff as the next person. That said, free soloing is hard to defend. It seems like the functional equivalent of not wearing a helmet while doing equestrian show jumping in the Olympics or while driving in the Indy 500. Sure, you theoretically could do it to prove mastery of your own fear, but beyond that, it wouldn't contribute anything to the actual sport other than increasing the risk of death while participating.
I watched the miniseries about James Garfield last night, Death By Lightning. Really good. Great cast and really reminds you, in case you think we're living in special times, people have always sucked and always will suck.

my thoughts as well, don't get why it is applauded - it is reckless
roughly half of the well known soloists have died while climbing for good reason
honnold asserts that his actions are safe because none of the climbers who died did so while pushing their limits, it was always doing relatively simple and straightforward stuff that where they had their guard down and took things for granted
ie brad godbright, who had the speed record for el capitan at one point, died while rapelling down a mountain because he failed to do the most basic safety precautions any beginner would have undergone and literally rappelled off his own rope to his death
honnold seems more aware of the dangers than many of his peers and less likely to start taking things for granted as they have, but still, i would be shocked if honnold dies a natural death
I think I saw maybe the worst movie I've ever seen last night: "The Contract." With John Cusack and Morgan Freeman, no less. Epically bad after promising to be good. Was supposed to be a "Star Chamber" type movie, where bad guys are eliminated by a council of assassins vigilante style. First scene a perv rich boy billionaires son is visited by the team, and as he scoffs that they can touch him as they stand on the sidewalk, Freeman casually pushes him in front of a speeding van driven by a teammate. Wow. You're jarred into it. I'm down for this.
Then it goes completely off the rails with no more such justice handed out (you're wanting the whole movie to be more of these) as the main characters get lost in the woods and it's a frickin hour and a half searching the woods bummer.
Jesus. On the one hand that looks super weird on the other, Linda Cardellini really REALLY sets me off
Watched this trailer last night and couldn't quite figure out what was going on. An app gets two friends in trouble, one dies, and confusion ensues? I couldn't quite follow.
Speaking of not being able to follow - I started to watch "Avengers Endgame" last night - and had no idea what was going on - so I went back to "Infiinity War" and found myself almost equally confused from the start. Do I really have to watch all 39824798 Marvel movies to catch up?
Or just watch none of them?
If you want to really appreciate the epitome of filmmaking and storytelling in all its glory, yes
You know what gives me more anxiety than watching someone free solo a mountain or building?
Watching those people that go in caves and crawl through super narrow spaces.

You can get away with just watching the highlighted movies before Infinity War.

Think twice before you do this to yourself
Iron Man (2008) 7.9/10
Iron Man 2 (2010) 6.9/10
Thor (2011) 7.0/10
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) 6.9/10
Marvel's The Avengers (2012) 8.0/10
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) 7.7/10
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) 8.0/10
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) 7.3/10
Captain America: Civil War (2016) 7.8/10
Doctor Strange (2016) 7.5/10
Thor: Ragnarok (2017) 7.9/10
Black Panther (2018) 7.3/10
Avengers: Infinity War (2018) 8.4/10
tbh, its still good forgettable fun except black panther which is utter trash and should be at nothing over 3/10
I watched many of those movies back in the day - and remember wondering what "The Infinity War" was all about when the comic books came out when I was a kid (I was an investor more than a reader lmao). Unfortunately I don't really remember anything from the movies, and it seems like too much work to get back into.
I was really hoping they would be stand alone, casual things I could watch 30 minutes of while eating lunch - and then come back to in pieces.
Changing gears - I was kinda looking forward to "Psycho Therapy" from the trailer but MAN - what a complete turd. Just awful.
Hoping "Project Hail Mary" lives up to the book, which was very enjoyable (though a little plucky for my taste).
Side note - not sure if you folks are into books on tape - but randomly started "Columbus Day" by Craig Alanson - extremely solid thus far.
I can rewatch Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man, and Doctor Strange anytime.
The rest... not so much
i didnt see it, multiple people told me i had to, I tried watching.. quit within 10 minutes saying this just sucks
no regrets
anyone who shills a "black movie" is worth cutting out of your life.
no racism here but movies aimed at black audiences are probably worse than anything north korea is doing. Its the equivalent of the soap garbage aimed at bored white women.
We're far from the good days of "how high" and similar black movies.
on a better note. im trying The stand and Ep 1 feels so rushed its crazy. It probably doesnt hold up to the book at all. if i hadnt read it, i wouldnt understand most of it. The dark man's scenes take 250 iq to understand and harold is good looking.
I'm reading The Stand again now. I'll probably never watch that series. There's a new anthology series of Stand stories out that I'm looking forward to. It was similar in that you were probably pretty damned lost if you hadn't read the book first. When the first half movie came out I went to see it with my sis and bro-in-law. My sis and I had both read the book and loved the movie. Bro-in-law hated it and didn't have a clue what the hell was going on.

lol at least if you make a mistake in a free solo, it's over pretty quick. You mess up in a cave....that **** could linger for days or more.
