White car looks clean dirty. Black car looks dirty clean.

That the vast majority of personal vehicles are black, white, or some shade of grey.

Paul Simon was right. Everything does look worse in black and white.

Also: that grey and gray seem interchangeable.

I agree. Our current cars are red and blue.

Also: using grey for the color is mainly for those silly canucks and brits.

That I sometimes find Jenna Bush Hagar slightly attractive

Lol, this is a good one.

Would, and would feel bad about it afterward.

Eating at the counter in the diner this morning. Guy next to me leaves his phone face up and unlocked with a text string on it in words big enough to read across the room. He's closing on a condo on Monday.

Pisses me off that he left his phone face up, unlocked with huge text and it never auto locked. He was gone for a good five minutes and was still open when he got back.

Bonus item, he had a pair of glasses that were perfectly clear plastic.

The Master of Monochrome, ladies and gentlemen!

😉

The semi-secluded house behind me has been empty for a while after the owner's death. His son asked me if I could kind of keep an eye on it and let him know if anything suspicious looked like it was going on until he could get it cleaned out and sold. I said sure. I had only seen him and his wife drive up in an easily identifiable SUV. One day he surprised me by showing up in a white pickup. I don't notice every vehicle that drives up there anyway, but unless I see him walking around, I have no idea if any white pickup I see is his. I could just imagine somebody emptying out whatever is left in there, and the cops asking me if I noticed any vehicles and I said "a white pickup." The cop's predictable answer would be that half the vehicles in the county are white pickups. LOL

Black, green, black, black, green, green, gold, green.
Huh. I guess I have a type.

*defying all odds, given the over-representation of monochromatic vehicles around here, for quite a while a few years ago my wife, son, daughter, and I all had our red vehicles parked in the driveway. When son-in-law showed up in his black pickup, we threatened to exile him unless he painted or traded it.

The neighbors behind us have been irritating for years, but this is the final straw. How much crap must you own that even with two storage sheds, a two-car garage, and a huge driveway, you still find it necessary to park a car in your backyard? Time for a privacy fence.

LOLOLOLOL

Ya got me!

i've only owned two cars in my entire life - both are silver volvos

I hate white cars. They look like pharmacy delivery vehicles. I have owned a couple, as they were really cheap, but generally I avoid them. Lots of dark blue cars recently, and a sprinkling of everything back in the day. When I delivered pizzas for a living, I bought whatever was cheap and drove it until the wheels fell off, replacing it with the next beater.

Not a fan of white cars, either, but some Porsche's and BMW's pull it off nicely. Mostly with black or gold rims. While I can kind of appreciate the way it looks, I doubt I would ever buy a white car.

The chalk colors aren't bad and I even inquired about one a few months ago.

I was never a fan of green cars outside of jaguars, but the irish green porsche is very nice. Imo, it really only worked on the old 912, but I kind of like it on the new cars.

I was shopping for a new Tacoma at the start of the year and was planning on getting their dark blue version, but decided against, electing to keep my trusty black 2017 until I actually have a reason besides lust to get a new one. Plus, I'm thinking about getting a drive around RV, so if I do that I'll have to get a Jeep or something to pull around behind it and won't want a new truck on top of all that crap.

From current to past - blue, blue, red, green, red, green, silver.

Didn't realize we were doing histories. Here's my entire car history, dates pretty close if not right on. Starts after college (never had one in HS or college, my folks didn't have money and I didn't need a car).

1987-88 light blue 73 VW bug. But it had a Blaupunkt! Got me around for first bit of career til I could afford something.

88-93 red 88 Mustang. One of those shitty, underpowered hatchbacks, not a nice one. Crashed in a snowstorm.

93-2001 black 93 Chevy Cavalier convertible. Actually quite liked this car; it was cheapish, but had a little sportiness (6 cyl--RS? version). Totaled when dumbass (without insurance, grrr) ran a red light.

Around 1998, I bought my late father's old truck from mom, and have had two vehicles since. Maroon F150, drove that til 2003. Don't remember year, but I'd guess around 95. Took this to Alaska and back in 2000, which is pretty much what killed it, I think. I did putter around town for a couple more years.

2001-2021 - 2002 Maroon Chevy Camaro convertible. Got the "last" year of the Camaro. Until it wasn't anymore. Kinda a fun vehicle; wanted a convertible, this was the cheapest thing I found out there. Oddly enough, ordered it before 9/11, took delivery after.

2003-present - 2002 Red Ford Ranger. A nice little truck. Perfect size for me to beat around in. Almost 104K miles now. Had trouble two consecutive years on road trips, so it's now my daily driver. Found that 4WD quit engaging after our recent snow, so I'll have to get it into the shop. Planning to drive the wheels off. As I drive so little nowdays, that might be forever.

2021-present - 2022 maroon Subaru Outback. Due to the aforementioned truck problems, I got this primarily to be my road trip vehicle when I go on my adventures. It's been a nice little car. Also may be a forever car due to my driving habits.
