New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Rumor is that the McReeyub will be back this week. Not all locations, of course, but many.
wow I forgot about mcreeyub szn
*flashes back to last year when I attempted to redeem a receipt survey BOGO mcrib but was denied. I complained and got a call from MCD corpos to apologize, but no coupons now that I think of it.
NSFW - warning, language is a bit salty.
For the record, my opinion of Five Guys is "Meh". Got it once, it seemed mediocre and expensive to me, so I never got it again. Plus, no drive through, and the closest location to me was not on my route home from work. I mostly just posted the video because it's funny. I might try them in Vegas sometime, because that's the only place I go besides home, and there's no Five Guys here.
Went to KFC last night for the first time, I'm guessing since the early 90s. Last time I was in a KFC was when chicken fried steak lunches were $1.99 every wednesday, however long ago that was. Free chicken sandwich this weekend. Free was too much. Pretty sure that will be the final time I ever go there. Bought mashed potatoes to qualify for the free sandwich. The worst. Could just be the location I guess. It can't get much business, I don't even know how it's still open, sandwiched between a CFA and a Golden Chick on one side less than a block away, and a Chicken Express a block away on the other side. I'll just keep overpaying for Chicken Express when I get the urge for FF chicken.
Mcrib live in Seattle!
I had a surprisingly poor experience at my Popeye's yesterday. Got the $6 big box deal, first they botched the pieces (breast wing), then they literally said "1 minute" and I sat there like a sap for easily over 10. Won't be going back there ever again, no matter what. Or at least not in any non-emergency.

Or until next month's coupon sheet comes out.
This $5 Pretzel Pubster combo from Checker's/Rally's doesn't look too bad, and at $5 (at participating locations), pretty good value, maybe.

*Combo offer reflects small combo. Price excludes any applicable tax. Offer valid at participating locations for a limited time only. Offer may not be available via third-party delivery services or apps. Offer available while supplies last. Product appearance and ingredients may vary slightly by market.
JITB good good sauce is actually pretty freaking good
think it's better than their ranch for fries. or maybe both?
"It's believed that the sauce is made with some variation of mayonnaise, honey, vinegar, hot sauce, brown sugar, and spices like garlic powder"
Ordered a couple of combos from Rally's for me and the Mrs. last night. Was magical...
Okay, so maybe not magical, but pretty damned good. Ordered two of the pretzel Pubster combos via the app. App said it would be ready in 2-3 minutes. I leave immediatly. This Rally's can be tricky getting into, but I was able to make the left across a fairly major street without hesitation (parting of the Red Sea epic), no cars in the drive-thru even at 6pm? I'll take it. Most places (TB and McD for sure) don't start assembling the order until you arrive. Not true with Rally's. I pulled into the drive-thru, told 'em I had an app order, pulled up to the window, and they handed me the order. Literally that fast, bag and drink tray, out the window. I was probably on the Rally's property for not more than 90 seconds.
As for the burger, easily my favorite Rally burger, so far. Very cheesy, good flavor with the crispy onions and bacon bits. Two small patties is more than enough burger for me, so at $5, this is good value.
Dammit no McReeyub near me.
Even my little bass-ackward town has McRibs. I feel sorry for you folks without convenient access.
I had my first two of the season today. Not as goopy and messy as in previous years, but that could be happenstance rather than an attempt to save a penny here and a penny there. Still my #1 FF option!
No McRib in Vegas or at least at the second closest store to me in Vegas, but they’re pimping a Buffalo ranch as their LTO which is kinda embarrassing if you ask me, which you did not.
I may have read this somewhere (perhaps even here) but McD needs a McRib neon sign in the window like Krispy Kreme's Hot Donut sign.
I drove past yesterday and couldn't tell if they were available from the cluttered signage in the windows because some doofus had planted a bunch of trees between the restaurant and the road. Why even put up posters if people are unable to see them from anywhere but your own parking lot?
if anyone should know to save the sweet for desert
