New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Now through Sunday: Wingstop in app/website has BOGO chicken sandwiches with code BOGOSAMMY

gogogogogo and don't forget the ranch!

I think I heard something about bogo blizzards on the DQ app. don’t have it so can’t confirm.

I finally tried the Tim Hortons pizza. Got a pepperoni. It was ok. Not as good as a Pizza Hut pizza, but it was better than a frozen grocery store pizza. I'll probably stick to Pizza Hut and only go to it if I'm out of options.

I didn't realize the Wendy's cheeseburger deal doesn't expire until the 23rd! Nice.

ya hadn't had one in years (loved the Italian chicken sandwich) but they had a BOGO and I got em with no lettuce no mayo (just plain) and man they were super delicious.

turns out BK is one of my fav ff joints.

I actually do no lettuce but yes mayo on my OG's.
BK is the most nostalgic fast food place from my youth but I don't have one close to me so haven't had BK in a few years.

I got the saucy nuggs for a second time, which I said I wouldn't. Much better the second time. They always seem to be lukewarm at best, I'll blast them in the microwave for a few seconds next time.

Due to this thread I just went to BK for the OG chicken sandwich. Delish.

Maybe this has been covered but the BK I went to has different deltas for their "meals." Like if you get a whopper meal instead of just the sandwich the price add is $5. But if you get a chicken sandwich meal instead of just the s'wich the price add is $4.80. The deltas all looked different for each meal (all in the range of $4.80 to $5.20). But in each case you are getting a small drink and fry.

I questioned this (no one else was in line) and had an audience of 4 workers and all I got were blank stares.

fantastic I can absolutely picture this

$4.80-$5.20 for a small drink and fry is absurd
what's the a la carte price for them?

Underrated ff hack for the boys: set your micro to 60% and 3x the time. Gently warmed vs. aggressively heated.

When the workers were able to come up with an explanation it was that the sandwiches alone didn't all cost the same. Le sigh.

Maybe I misread the menu and the meal includes a regular fry and drink? If so, I'd guess that's a medium?

Medium Coke: $3.19
Medium Fry: $4.49

Either way, I DID NOT misread the price deltas.

my god
close to eight bucks for a single serving of sugar water and taters
we should start selling $100 hummingbird feeders to retirees

This practice drives me insane to a modestly unreasonable degree. I too question it out loud to my friends, family and occasionally other customers or employees (nearly always also receiving the blank stare response from the latter groups). It's not my wife's least favorite thing about me, but I am pretty confident it would be in the bottom quartile of my qualities if you had her stack rank 'em.

People buy things a la carte? Or without a deal/coupon? Weirdos

sometimes I feel as if 'packaging' by resellers is a scam... but I can not find the correct math to prove it.

That's for all foods. I generally microwave at 50%. Why every microwave default is 100% is baffling.

But I want my hot pocket now!

A la carte is like 90+% of how I order fast food. The thought of a fast food sandwich AND fries/nuggets just isn't for me. Some days I do crave fries, so that's what I order. A large fry....that's it. If I want something like a whopper then I'll just order that.

And I never get a drink. This is always during the lunch hour and I figure I can make it 5 minutes back to the office to quench my thirst.

I'm probably a weirdo.

My microwave isn't adjustable. It's 100% all the time, but it's small so that 100% for it is like 75% for most other microwaves. I bought it 20 years ago for 60 bucks. I have a more modern one, but it's too big for the tiny space my old one occupies, so it stays in the box for now.

I take the food home and eat it there about 98% of the time. So I have drinks that I bought at Walmart. I only eat fries one day a week because I'm way too fat.
