I keep waiting for you to tell us about your washing machine!
****!!!
I just spread two sticks of butter on the control panel of my washer. ****! ****! ****!
Spoiler
And never once did I think of Last Tango in Paris. Well, maybe not twice.
Of, if you happen to be in Iowa (mostly), one of these for even less!

HD texted to say the new machine would be delivered between 3-7 PM tomorrow. Given the delays I experienced in the spring when ordering stuff for the bathroom through them, and the fact that it's just after Black Friday sales, expecting more like next week.

First things first: What the heck is that sandwich? Is that just a Sloppy Joe with pickles and onions, or is there more to it?
My washer from Costco in late 2023 had several delays. Different supplier and different market conditions than yours, but patience may well be called for. I have confidence that you can handle it!
Sloppy Joe, no sauce. Oddly popular in the corn belt.
Amateur! Walmart has them for $2.56
is it not the sauce that qualifies it as something sloppy?
or is that the oxymoronic result of placing an order for extra sloppy because dry meat don't stick together
Yeah, no sauce, so no sloppy. It's just a Joe.
We finally decided to bite the bullet a and get a new tankless water heater. After a bit of research we decided on the Navien NPE-240A. It is amazingly good and a big upgrade over our old Rinnai. We have 3 showers and you can run them all at the same time without any cold water sandwich problems or loss of hot water, due to the improved technology I guess. Fairly expensive but highly recommended for anyone wanting a tankless system.
It's called a Maid-Rite (see mark's photo), or loose meat sandwich. I guess non-sloppy-Joe is a good description. Seasoned ground beef, cheese optional. Onions, pickles, mustard, ketchup IIRC.
I believe it was started in the depression, or somewhen like that in Iowa. There are quite a few of them spread around cornland and a few other spots. As Garick said, oddly popular--there nothing to distinguish it from being a generic FF burger other than not being a patty.
It's one of those things that I will occasionally grab one when back in my former area, but certainly won't go out of my way for.
Probably better than Runza (?)
Washer is out for delivery, 8 stops away, says HD's tracker. It was 9 when I first checked ~15 minutes ago. Scheduled between 3-7PM (now 9:55), so maybe even a bit early. I won't get my hopes up until it's here.

I bow to the Master.
About 2:30 yesterday afternoon, checked HD's tracker. There's 1 stop before me. First time I saw a link to see the truck on a map. Great, they're < 2 miles away.
About 4:05 I get a call from delivery guy, should be here in about 30 minutes. Maybe the previous stop was a reno with a bunch of appliances to install, who knows why so long.
They get here just before 5. Maybe they had to dump stuff off the truck or something. Not too much later than 30 minutes, anyway.
Take the washer onto the platform, lower it, then cut the box away. Then, something I'd never seen before. Instead of using the hand truck, each guy had a yoke of fabric around his neck, and then had a wide (maybe 4-6") strip of fabric with clips on each end. They ran it under the washer, clipped into their yokes, and walked it in that way.
Fortunately, the laundry is right inside the garage, so easiest delivery ever. I had to run to go deal, so just kinda put it back there. After poker, finished the setup, and have been doing laundry this morning.
So far, I'd say it's louder than the old one, (especially on the spin) but not terrible. Spin out leaves stuff still a little wet, so trying the "extra spin" setting on current load. Seems to be functioning properly though.

Yeah they did this at my place too, with all my appliances. Stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and pretty big refrigerator. Right up the stairs to the second floor, and they made it look super easy. Instead of one guy trying to wheel a hand truck up my stairs one step at a time, with the other guy risking his life trying to push from underneath, they were able to just walk them right up.
Yeah, it went really well for them. My laundry on first floor (USA#n first), so easy in via the garage.
When fitting the drain hose, they had a frustrating kind of hose clamp to hold it on there. Trying to squeeze the "tabs" while pushing it on the hose, then pushing that assembly onto the machine was a bit frustrating.
Also, when I pulled the drain cap off, I was surprised to see some liquid come out. Seemed as if there was something suspended in it, not just water. Not a huge amount, maybe a cup or so. Grabbed a conveniently-located rag and moved to the next step.
One other thing was a long piece of tape across all the knobs. It was pretty heavy, more than painter's tape, less than duct. Each knob was also wrapped in plastic; so, pulling off the tape pulled off the knob. Fortunately, the stem had one flat side, so it was obvious how the knob went back on there.
Pluses: much faster than the previous. ~30 minutes for a load. Of course, just the fact that it worked is better. Very easy to use.
Minuses: Louder on spin. No indication of time left, just idiot lights. Seems to be a little less solidly made.
Overall, we'll see over time, but I think it's going to be fine.
some sort of cheap ground meat and wheat bread is the heartland staple

The guys that delivered my mother-in-law's new washer and dryer had this with the strap being about a foot wide. Easy peasy.
I have straps for moving furniture. Your arm goes through a loop that rests near your elbow. Cross the straps under what you're moving. Each person then puts their hands on the item to steady it and lifts with their legs. Works really well.
Have noticed tree rats on the roof more than usual. I try to keep the limbs cut back, but saw one jump over (so took that down).
Noticed they'd built a nest between the solar panels and the shingles. Well, that **** ain't gonna work for me. First went up the ladder with my tent pole, figuring that would be flexible but strong enough to kinda whip it around and break up the stuff.
It stuck in there, but wasn't doing much to break things up. Back down into the garage, looking for something like ~ 6 ft of 2x4 or 1x2 or something.
Hey, I've got a pole saw. That extends to 14' or so. Stuck the butt end in there, was able to break it up and push most of the debris into the yard.
It was getting dark, so tomorrow I might get the big ladder out and clean away the remaining debris from the gutters. I installed some mesh years back, so it shouldn't be in the gutter much. With better light, I'll be better able to assess.
Of course, I didn't have my gloves on, so knuckles a bit beat up from scraping on the shingles.
While up there, I noticed a tree rat around. I jabbed at it a couple times, but of course it was too quick. Didn't see it when I finished up, not sure where it escaped to.
Another thing to monitor more closely. At least now I have a plan if it recurs.
