*** Official OOT Less Important Than George Michael RIP Thread ***
Here's a catchall thread for condolences for all your George Michael and below subchampions. May they all RIP.
RIP Alla
this was a fun watch, posted a year ago
created in '67, still applies now
Thanks for posting those clips, RED!
I somehow missed the first one when you posted it previously. Very informative.
Those clips reminded me of taking a shortcut (as I am wont to do) several years ago weaving among cotton fields and soybean fields in Arkansas and suddenly finding ourselves on the Levon Helm Memorial Highway. Talk about an awesome surprise!
RIP Garth
RIP The Band
Might be too in the weeds for some - Barry Goldberg died. He was the keyboardist for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
He was also the keyboardist that backed Bob Dylan at the infamous '65 Newport Folk Festival.
Peace, my friend.

ha...it was posted a year ago on ytube, first time i've posted it. i mentioned the timing because it looks like something that was put together posthumously, because it was...but it was produced after the death of Robertson because Hudson was the only surviving member.

after Highway '61 Goldberg and Bloomfeld helped form Electric Flag
their live debut was at Monterey Pop '67
Mike Bloomfield, guitar, vocals
Buddy Miles, drums, vocals
Barry Goldberg, keyboards
Harvey Brooks, bass
Nick Gravenites, vocals
the second song is a banger
a directly adjacent bit of trivia:
Buddy Miles would join Jimi Hendrix shortly after, and along with bassist Billy Cox formed a Band of Gypsys, likely the greatest all-black power trio ever assembled.
obligatory
Virginia McCaskey, owner of the Chicago Bears, passes away at 102 years old.
Stole this from The Athletic: “Mrs. McCaskey had been alive for all but 36 games in the Bears’ 105-year existence and attended most of them. She witnessed eight of the franchise’s nine championships and had a personal relationship with each of the 30 Hall of Famers associated with the Bears.”

that last bit reads a little awkward
At least someone finally posted the death of somebody less important than George Michael. It's awfully close, but as Davy Crockett would say: I think it meets the bar.
