How do you remember dugi drawing rules?
Hi all,
I am reading Ken Loβs book and got to the section on dugi drawing given prior discards. Itβs confusing. Is there an easier way to remember all these rules?
It sounds like in general you want the best chance to make the strongest badugi even if it lowers your chance of making any dugi at all. If youβre heads up though I would think you want the best chance of making any dugi as you need to be less nutted heads up than multi-way.
Thanks,
DT

Starting hand Ac2h Ts9s
Catch 2s and 2 paint clubs. Of course you should switch the 2h for the 2s
Kicking this two-year old thread up because I'm trying to learn Badugi. This piece of good advice is troublesome for me because I am weak at tracking cards. Now I need to remember which suits I have tossed. :-(
This weakness of mine made me give up on Razz and 7-stud. Not being able to track folded cards placed me at a great disadvantage. I need to stick to Chess and Scrabble.
You also need to be careful about throwing away two cards and be being given back three, as this will kill your hand if you don't notice immediately.
(In the example quoted you presumably threw away the Ts and 9s yet somehow received the 2s and two club face cards.)
I'm starting to get the hang of the game. My problem is when I get deep in the tournament and the limit-bets get large, I get hammered in a smooth hand and I'm crippled. When is it considered correct to fold a smooth draw like 52Ax (if ever?) through the river versus a pat hand?
