852 2-7 triple draw

Hi all,

100/200 mix. There is a kill $150 on in sb and I am bb. Kill checks option in sb on me with KJ852 and I raise to $300. He calls. Heads up.

2,2. What does his check d2 say about his hand? I imagine it isn’t a premium draw if he checked. Maybe 367 863 types? If he’s really terrible worse than that.

He checks I improve to a 9 draw and bet. He calls. He draws 1. Now the question is do I d1 or 2. I drew 1 because it looks stronger and our equity difference may not be huge. But we also lose the ability to make very strong hands. I don’t know which is more important.

Anyway we both d1 and I make a 98. He checks I bet for value and protection he raises to $600 I call. He pats I d1 to an 85. I don’t think this hand is strong enough to pat behind but I could be wrong. I draw. I make a T8 he bets. I fold. His river betting range for value should have us in bad shape and I’m just hoping he is bluffing.

Thanks,
DT

Yes it’s usually a weaker D2 like you posted.

I would tend to draw 1 on the 2nd draw where decider is a reason you didn’t mention, on the turn you will be checked to if he doesn’t make a made hand instead of facing an automatic bet so you will realize more equity. I would d2 to hands like 9732 though

Getting c/r like this is relatively rare and you are mostly on your own based upon what type of player he is. With this line usually it was some 763 type hand that ultimately got lucky with a seven. When breaking it is quite a parlay to hope he was c/r with an eight or better nine and outdraw it. I have seen this done with 87 lows though. A bluff with a bad draw is always possible though instead of leading out he is choosing to c/r a holding that often (for the moment at least) was going to pat

In GTO land you probably pat behind and decide river, vs most people I prefer folding to the turn CR. Would have D2 after he D1 but no big deal
