50 Buyins Below EV 50k Hand Sample
I seriously just dont even know what to do anymore. These are all my hands since starting playing poker last year. I run so bad that I really can't comprehend it. I've spent so much time on getting better and learning GTO other strategy concepts etc... Im obsessed with the game itself and spend an insane amount of time on it. Ill admit my first 40k hands online I was pretty awful and obviously there were some learning curves. Over the last 10k hands I'm winning at around 13BB/100 but still was down money for the sample. What can I do to get out of this negative mindset, I love the game but this is just hard to comprehend. How have I been able to run this bad for so long and how is this the only sample I've been able to get ever. You can see the gap between EV and All in EV on the graph never once got closer. Every session I've ever played in my life I have run this bad losing a buyin in EV every 1000 hands. I have nobody that supports me playing poker my family hates it and they think that nobody can be a winning player in poker, think im insane for continuing to play and think I'm some degen. My journey has just been so rough I would appreciate some advice or anything to get my confidence up.

If anyone is still interest I quit my job and decided to pursue poker full time at the age of 21 around a month and a half ago. At the time I was up a bit more than 20k and had a 16k bankroll. Since quitting I’m up around 18k-20k and my bankroll is now over 30k. I’ve been playing mostly 2/5 live cash but I have played a few tournaments and I’ve come top 10% on all of them even winning a 10k guarenteed for 3k. When I initially made this post I would have never imagined that I’d be where I am today in such a short amount of time. If anyone is going through what I was just know that all the study and hard work you put into improving your game is worth it and the results will come as long as you have good bankroll management and a good poker mindset. I’m playing over 50 hours a week now 2/5 live buying in for 500 and hoping to continue the sun run. I truly believe that I can make 60k+ a year playing poker and I’m gonna make it happen!
I started tracking my results in 2024 and these are my results for the first 24 days.
Yeah thanks it just sucks I cant even have the joy of winning in poker or running good for a session because its never happened to me in my entire life. Never bad beated anyone, My stats show ive actually lost money with my aces, kings, and queens, it literally doesnt matter what i do I could have GTO completely memorized and i would still lose literally every single time I play its truly unreal.
You never bad beat anyone?
Hey guys just wanted to make an update. Around 5 months ago I got a job that gave me a real bankroll to play. I started at 1/2 and won a couple thousand live and online around 7k. Around a month ago I started playing 2/5 and I'm up around 4k. I played two tournaments and cashed in both of them for 2.1k profit. I actually haven't had a losing session playing live in around 8 sessions i can't even remember the last time it happened. I studied so so so hard and became a much better player. I can sa
Looking at a solver doesn't make you a good poker player. Everyone looks at solvers unless they don't have a computer. There is a lot more dynamic to poker then using a solver. The fact you don't understand variance you are still a noob learning the game.

My results speak for themselves now I’m up around 40k lifetime in live poker I posted my results for 2024 so far I’ve improved a lot since I initially posted this and I was going through a hard time in my life back then. I used to have victim mindset which held me back and a lot of the stuff I said was pretty dumb but I’ll still say I ran pretty bad back then but obviously I was a terrible player just learning the game
Nh! 👍
Sorry you were on a 40 buyin downswing but those do happen. Just play more hands and post more hands and you'll get out of it eventually (I hope). Also please look at your all in hands or post them because maybe they weren't as standard as you thought.

Thanks I've put in a lot of work since then, I was new to the game at the time. I did run bad but i also played horribly and I understand that now. This was when I played 0.10/0.25 so the loss was not huge but the money meant a lot to me at the time because I was broke and didnt have a job. I now play live poker professionally at 2/5 and 5/10. I ran up a bankroll playing 1/2 no limit and moved up to 2/5 when I had the bankroll for it. Im up over 50k dollars in less than a year and I'm hoping to continue playing for a living. 😀

your redline sucks, your blue line means your either making river calls too light or bluffing too much. EV at 0 doesnt mean your "running bad". you have leaks, post your stats page and we can help figure it out.
Quick update still playing for a living mostly playing live 2/5 and 5/10 I'm up 65k in 2024. Sun running and playing decent going to continue grinding and hopefully move up in stakes soon. You really dont need to be an amazing player to crush it live you just need to maximally exploit whales because that's where 90% if your winrate comes from. As long as the whale thinks you are action and bluffing a lot you will always get paid. Won an 8k pot against a whale a couple months ago in a 4 bet pot at 2/5 I had JJ he had A3s. I bet flop on a low board and turn top set then check and he jammed 3.5k into a 1k pot with just a backdoor flush draw. Anyways ill update again soon I've also been playing online ante 1/2 for fun and have been doing well on there too. If anyone needs some advice or wants to give some advice lmk!

2.5 million enough? I should be entitled to estimated winnings, might take em to court and get the entire system shut down with this undeniable proof of rig.

Go ahead and let us all know how much more you lost in costs. Then you can claim the case was rigged and take them to court for that too.
try to find games where there's no rake

the tail end of that graph is basically breakeven so the guy is obviously playing too aggressively and tilting blah blah ****ing brutal
