Did I make the right fold?

Did I make the right fold?

I am mainly an MTT grinder but I've been taking some shots at my local 1/3 cash game. Tonight I had an interesting hand that will haunt me for years but I think I made the right fold.

I was UTG with KK and jusy over 800 in my stack. I open to 22 and it folds to the cutoff. He 3 bets to 50 and the button calls. I 4 bet to 115 and cutoff folds and button quickly called. For some context the player on the button had me covered and I've played tournaments with her before. She is extremely tight so when she calls a 4 bet I'm putting her on TT,JJ or QQ. She would always 5 bet with aces there so I ruled that out quick.

Flop comes TJ7 with 2 diamonds. I didn't have the king of diamonds. I down bet to see what was up and put out 90, she quickly calls. Turn comes the 6 bringing a heart draw on the board as well. I was worried at this point given her image and our history but my hand is too strong to be check calling. I bet out 170 and she snap shoved over me. I went into the tank and figured tens flops a set and so did Jack's and I'm only ever beating queens, maybe sometimes chopping against the other 2 kings.

I thought about it for a while and figured she must have had top set. I asked her if she would shoe if I fold and she didn't answer so I open folded my Kings and said you must have top set. Her eyes got wide as **** and she showed QQ. The whole table was howling. Some guys gave me **** because I put so much in the pot that I have to call and if she has it then she has it.

I think most of the time I'm just dead to a king on the river there. I had a smoke with her after the hand and she said she put me on AKs and didn't want me to see the river. I'm feeling pretty discouraged here and would love your guys insight.

Pretty tilted not gonna lie. If I had aces I would have maybe called and if we weren't so deep I'd have snapped it off. She was also running unbelievably hot and showing down with the nuts or close to the nuts most hands which didn't help. The table was pretty divided if I made the right fold there.

What do yall think?

How's your hand too strong to be check calling if you put her on such a limited range of TT-QQ? Logic doesn't add up.

That said I don't think the fold is too bad as a tightish player is rarely coming over the top for 200 bb+ on the turn without having you beat. Don't let it keep you up at night!

If you are looking for an answer to your question, consider posting the hand here (but without results).
