Rosarito Life - Zooming to $50k in 6 months
Well, I figured it was time for a new PGC. About a year ago I dropped out of college to play poker full time. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I won't bore you guys here with a long story about my poker career, but some of that can be found in my old pgc: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/174/p...
While I've found a lot of success both online and live, my dedication to the grind has been lacking. With fewer distractions now, I'm hoping to turn that around. I have some goals I'd like to achieve in the 6 (now 5 1/2) months I'm here, but first I'll post my results to date.
Online Cash
200nl hands: 262,163 @ 6.37 bb/100
500nl hands: 63,497 @ 8.24 bb/100
1knl hands: 3,897 @ -23bb/100
this is over the last ~15 months. yeah, my volume sucked
Online Tournaments
Total: 219
ITM: 23%
ROI: 131%
AVG Buyin: $99
Live Cash
166 hours (2/5 and 5/10, mostly 5/10)
+$25,585
So, after a fairly lackluster year as a college dropout turned professional poker player, I'm looking to really ramp things up and put the necessary volume in to really make money. I just moved into a place in Rosarito and it's ****ing amazing. Right on the water, ocean views from every room, nice facilities (gym/pool/sauna), cheap rent, almost no distractions, close to Rosarito and the border... what more could I ask for? If I can't grind out real volume here then I can't do it anywhere.
Weekly Goals
10k hands Bovada (200-500nl)
20k hands pokerstars zoom (100nl right now)
$1.5k in tournament buyins
Run at least 10 miles
Spend less than $50 per week (rent/utilities already paid)
Long Term Goals
Play only 500nl or higher on Bovada (by Feb 1, 2019)
Play only 200z or higher on stars (by Mar 1, 2019)
50k richer by April 30, 2019
So lets get to it then. Going down to the gym to run 2 miles now, then on to the grind.
Update?
Did you ever get a monitor and a mouse? I cant imagine anyone actually playing serious online poker with a trackpad and one screen. Bonkers.
Nice to see an upswing, theyre always a blast 😉

Hey, thanks for dropping by. Life's good. Really good. I love being back in california. Hiking, biking and kayaking a lot lately. Trying to focus on being active/eating better/not drinking as often. Up to ~195 lb for the first time ever and ideally should be 160-70 so I have some work to do lol.
Been splitting time between auburn and rosarito but hopefully my boyfriend will have a tourist visa in May. Trying not to get my hopes up too high in case he gets denied but to be honest I haven't been so excited about something in a long time.
Miss the cat pics. Hope you're still kicking bud and crushing and not dead in some ditch somewhere. Mexico can be pretty fkn wild in a bad way.
I'm so ready to never set foot in that country again tbh. So so beautiful with amazing people but the corruption and harassment gets really tiring. Mx city is my favorite city in the world and pretty much everywhere I've gone has amazing food, amazing people, gorgeous sights to see.. but it's not worth the harassment/attempted robberies. And I'm not talking about the cartels.
Also, one of the big reasons to go somewhere like Cancun vs somewhere like Hawaii is that a vacation to Mexico used to be significantly cheaper. My last two trips to Honolulu were much cheaper (lodging food and transport) than my last two trips to Cancun. You also don't get the feeling that everyone is trying to scam you or trying to see just how much money they can get out of you at every turn. Can't tell you how many times I have to send my boyfriend to buy us beers at a bar because the price is 100 pesos higher if I do it (despite fluent Spanish) Even rent has skyrocketed to the point where I'm actually paying less for the same size apartment in California than I did in Rosarito.
aaaaanyway, enough about that lol.

You must be following since 2017 lol. I'm pretty sure I posted a pic of my setup sometime recently. Two tablets for apps and a big curved dell monitor, no idea the specs on it.
Thanks!
Winter is here, but the cats are ready:
I spent way too long trying to get the pics to upload here :'( Just refuses to work, sorry guys.
I binked a nice score a few days ago. Felt especially good because I took 7th a few weeks ago in a tournament with close to 60k up top and was feeling awful about it since then.
1st would've been nice but I griiiinded that final table. Never had a chip lead, was in 5th 5 handed and down 3/1 going into HU. Managed to get a 2/1 chiplead before losing a flip and running bad all the way into second place. The guy who won it wanted to make a deal when we were 9 handed and somehow he ended up taking it down lol
2nd place???? You know that's just the first loser right?! /s
How’s the grind going?????????

I was unreasonably depressed about it for about a week :( Happy about the money obviously, just upset I couldn't close out a rare opportunity.
Pretty good. I got tired of everyone asking me how to count cards when I tell them I play poker for a living so I figured I'd give it a shot and learned how. Only lasted about a month and ~20k profit before I got backed off everywhere near me worth playing. I didn't even get that good at it I just heatered in the right spots. Kinda like poker lol
Have been playing very little online in the US but I played a few live tournaments. $500-$1k buyins, cashed 3 out of 7 buyins with a 5th and 7th for something like 25k profit including bounties. Might fire a bunch at the wsop this year for fun.
When I'm down south I've been crushing GG. Winning 17bb/100 pre rb at 100-200nl but its an lol 50k hand sample so we'll see. Mixing 500nl when it looks good too but breaking even over a small sample. Number of fish at every level is absolutely wild though. Makes the soul crushing rake beatable somehow maybe
thread demands pussy
The thread gets what the thread wants. Fresh pussy pics below
Also a few pics from my trip out to lake hanson in baja last week. Crazy how full the lakes are this year compared to just 1-2 years ago. Kayaking in 5 feet of water where I rode my bike a season ago is wild in a place that doesn't get much rain. Didn't get any great pics of it
last trip out there it snowed on us
nice, if you ever cross posted into https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34/ot... you'd be very popular there
Anyone in vegas who can trade cash for btc? I need 5k. Didn't realize I'm short on cash for the main event and I don't think coinbase is going to get me a withdrawal by saturday.
Haven't checked in in awhile. Just caught up with last two years... good stuff. Forgot how much I enjoyed this thread. Glgl in Vegas.
I would if I were in Vegas. You playing any tourneys or just cash?
Isnt that just for transfers to or from poker sites? Worth a shot thanks
Thanks guys, glad someone still checks the thread out lol. Got money into my bank account but the ach has to clear and not sure if it will by tomorrow. Fingers crossed I’m playing the main. Im an idiot for always procrastinating
Hopefully wont play much cash in vegas because the games tend to be awful but if I have extra time that’s what I’ll be doing
Might sit the biggest game I can find tonight and see if I can create another $4k
there's a bunch of crypto for cash stuff, a lot easier to not get scammed since you'll be doing it all in person as well, glgl
crypto thread may be worth a shot but a mod may get upset about it
Thanks rick, that worked. Though in the end my funds cleared and I didn’t need it.
Well, I managed to not bust day 1 of the main like I did last time I played it. Only have about 75k chips going into day 2 tomorrow but I’m alive. So insane how soft it is for a $10k tournament. Definitely had a great table draw with no other pros except for maybe one guy who idk about. People are out here folding literally everything but the nuts. Dude flops a set in a 3bet pot on qjt. Check/check flop. Check/call turn 6. Check/fold river 5. Wut
If I could find my fold button myself I’d be doing much better. One hand I call a small 3bet with ak, flop aj2. Guy pots flop/pots turn and I almost fold turn because I know he is so tight he only has JJ or maybe Ak for a chop. He checks river on AJ24Q runout, scared of slowplayed AA I guess? He had JJ of course. Idk what is going on but I’m enjoying the hell out of it
Good luck in the main.
Thank you!
It would have been $175 to instantly transfer 10k. And it wouldn’t have helped because “instant” transfers still have to clear your bank’s ach processing. I had the money in my bank account thursday but they just wouldn’t give it to me until it cleared which was Saturday.
Thank you!

Yeah ok. I've never done the instant thing makes sense it still has to clear ach with the bank. I've always gotten my money into my chase bank account from coinbase in 1 or 2 days never any longer than that even though it says it may take up to a week. Hopefully we'll see you on the pokergo coverage deep on day 7+.

Thanks! I’m just psyched to be playing. A year ago I had a bankroll below 20k so I would never have guessed I would be here.
Goal for tomorrow is to keep taking all the easy spots and survive. If I get a table as good as day 1 and run a little better I should build to at least 150-200k chips
I had such a good run going most of day 2. Built up 325k before getting wrekt repeatedly. AA lost to AQ aipf, AT vs A8 lost aipf etc etc. managed to hold onto a measly ~220k going into day 3.
ItÂ’s wild how soft this tournament is. I had heard it was soft but wow wow and wow it is a fishfestival. One of the most fun tournaments IÂ’ve ever played, everyone just wants to shoot the **** and have a good time
Wow that's pretty brutal. Amazing you're still in though. glgl
