noob goals
hey guys
brit living in berlin here, full time musician and currently poker obsessed. loads of time for it during lockdown
been lurking here for a while. been playing micro mtt's for about a year but recently switched to cash, NL5/NL10 and finding the variance much easier to deal with and the games generally more enjoyable
I have a very small sample size but so far bb/100 at NL5 is 20.16 and NL10 11.02. will post up some graphs as I get more volume
some goals I'm setting for myself -
50k hands per month
finish reading books by matthew janda and jared tendler
go from two tabling up to four (unfortunately the limit now in germany, might switch to zoom to get more hands in but enjoying reg tables for now. I have lots of free time though so I can get in good volume every day)
get pio in bootleg or a mac equivalent, think monker is the only option. double the price of pio basic but maybe worth it in the long term, can anyone vouch for this?
find people to study with, hence why I'm posting here. would love to share ideas as much as possible. also if anyone is in berlin would be great to meet, after lockdown?
a few hands so far, any feedback on them would be great

I'd never have made plays like this a few months ago. make me nervy as hell but I have all the strong Ax in my range (although would I check the turn?). also the 9 diamonds blocks some of his FD combos. maybe this is terribly played

think this is pretty bad, I should probably just call pf? when he checks twice I thought he might have AQs or a pair of tens, although he was tight and probably doesn't call those pf when I 4bet? would you fold otr?

this guy was 3betting way too much pf. think he's weak when he checks flop and I have the gutshot and BDFD, still super scary but I had to go for it otr or is this just awful?

havn't posted here since dec 2022!
i didn't play poker for a while until the end of jan of this year. played a few tourneys last year for fun but decided to have a crack at cash games again since the end of jan. stuck $10 into the account on gg to see if i could spin it up. grinded NL2 R&C and beat that for 11bb/100 over 18k hands. with the help of some gg care flipouts i'm now at $150 bankroll so have moved up to NL5. very small sample but have 13bb/100 over 4k hands so far
have a question regarding gg - i signed up when i was back in the UK a few years back (i still have a bank account there) as the rake is so high in germany where i live. if i manage to move up and get a good bank roll going is there any chance gg could find out? i use a vpn but occasionally it disconnects so they can probably see i'm playing from germany. just a bit wary of this
graph for this year since i started again -
I'd be vary weary of playing on GG with VPN. They are coming down hard on stuff like that. If you are to continue, i would say don't leave a significant amount of money in your account, as if the worst happens, you aren't guaranteed your money back.

weirdly i can get into the app fine without the vpn, i just always try to have it on in case they track the ip/location from where people are logging in
but yeah will make sure i withdraw winnings quite quickly if i manage to move up the stakes
A hoy hoy.
checking in again as i've been playing again for the past month. played a bunch of micro Mtt's and then realised i really can't stand playing tournaments, switched to cash with a $50 roll that i ground up from doing freebies and played some rush n cash NL2. grinded that and 3 weeks later i'm playing NL10 with a $380 roll with help from some gg care
my poker journey has come in waves but this time it feels like i'm really learning and improving. the more i learn about the game the more i realise how much i don't know. i've been using gtowizard every day for preflop spots and using the daily freebie there. just working on having a really solid game and lately tightening up a bit due to GG rake, but still being very aggressive in spots where i know villain is capped etc. there are so many bad fishregs at NL10 that i think i can eek out a nice 5-10bb/100 quite easily, play 2-3k hands a day and have some nice money on the side.
not really planning on making too many "goals" but this time it definitely feels different to when i'd play poker for a month, tilt and then leave it for another 6 months.
i do have one goal though and that is to be playing NL25 in a month. grind this $380 to $750 ish and then see how i do there. same as above, if i can maintain the 2-3k hands a day and have a good winrate there then i'd be pretty satisfied with that. there is the risk that i'm using a vpn to play gg so i don't want to keep too much money on there. around $750 and taking out winnings every 2 weeks seems ok to me. a 5bb/100 there with 2k hands a day would give me around 6k a year. i'm not gonna say that i wouldn't try shots at NL50/100 then, but living in germany and doing what i'm doing on gg does seem risky to have too big of a roll there.
last 3 weeks (rake is insane even on UK GG?)
