From NL200 zoom to never having a 9 to 5 Job
Hello everyone,
I am Chris, just moved to Vienna to gamble full time! For the start I'll play NL200 zoom on PS and GG.
About me :
- 22 years old from Germany(069/0228)
- I play and love Basketball
- love spewing like really
- Smile a lot ((:
Since this is the first time in my life that my schedule is entirely up to me I will do these things everyday:
- go running(wont start until a week since I twisted my ankle badly a few days ago hiking)
- do pushups
- breath exercises
- study poker
If I am not motivated its fine if I only do these things for 5 minutes, important to me is that I will do them everyday.
I will track all my stats on an google docs excel sheet everyday so feel free to check out how my current month is going but will obviously still update on the thread: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...
Always looking for Music recommendations.
Also if you're living in Vienna or play similar stakes you can hit me up on discord: chrisaui #6056
Last 50k hands on NL200+NL100 do think I got way better though since I couldn't play for the last 2 month (new laws in Germany) and only studied but we will see(:
Great podcast, keep going ! 😀
Appreciate the nice words ❤️
Have to shout out my guy Jan!
Best in this format, with insane EV higher than alot of 5K regs. Helped me so much when I was moving up. Really enjoys and is good at teaching as well. Will be lurking and commenting in the groups as well.
Think easiest way to move up, next to working hard yourself is someone who's already there mentoring/showing you the way.
Closer relationships when coaching have way higher success rate in the student actually making it to HS.
That's why Bitb and Guerilla have infinite guys at HS while these massive stables with few coaches like BTS/Meta/Detox to my knowledge barely have any people( maybe none) at HS.
Actually fastest way to being pro/sick yearly and even HS is close coaching with a certified crusher. Which Jan definetly is.
In the podcast, you mentioned that you moved up from nl10 to nl200 zoom in ~6 months.
Did you have any coaching during that period? If not, can you share how you improved as a player to be able to move up quite fast?
No coaching.
I got some preflop ranges and drilled them like school vocabulary
Did aggregate reports for flops for basically all spots and tried to make a strategy for myself.
I don't know if it was the most productive way to learn but it lead me to spend alot of hours trying to understand poker better instead of just randomly clicking. Which is the most important thing imo just actively spending alot of hours on poker trying to get better.
and i'm curious to know why you preferred zoom when moving up. did you just enjoy the format or did you think zoom was/is better for an upcoming grinder?
Just hate table selecting and saw big benefits in being able to play short sessions when ever I want and being able to focus only on the game instead everything around it. Also was playing on a laptop until I switched to reg games at 500 so zoom kinda only possibility. 😃
Games are still soft and beatable as well.
Would still recommend it.
Eventhough I know that most recommend reg tables.
In the end it probably doesent matter much and would just choose what fits you better.
alright cool, thanks a lot!
gl at the tables!!!
What did you work on after going through the aggregated reports for all flops?
