equivalent to crushing 500 in canada would prob be crushing nl200 in brazil as far as cost of living go

Probably nl1k vs nl100, canada is expensive as ****

There is a difference in cost of living, but it's definitely not as big as 10x, not even close. You can check it in numbeo, and compare let's say Sao Paulo* to Toronto.

*I would add a buffer for rents in any big brazilian (or latin american?) city, as although the average value looks correct, average means good, average and bad areas, all put together, and I don't think you want to live in bad areas in any country where safety is a concern.

I'm exaggerating. Of course it's not 10x cheaper. It's not even 4x cheaper. It's somewhere between 2 to 3x cheaper based on the link below. This is surprising to me since I thought it would be cheaper than that. Inflation over there and in many third world countries must have been even worse than it was in Canada in the last few years.

The salaries are almost 10x less though hence the poverty. No wonder there's so many microstakes grinders.

https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/co...

Maybe, yearly inflation averaged a little over 7% in the last 15 years (I chose this period as it got full economic cycles over here, as well as high and low inflation periods, and covid ofc) while USD went up "only" 5.62% CAGR over the same period, which means country definitely got more expensive in USD. Not sure about the relationship between CAD and USD or canadian inflation though.

Average salary seems accurate, and yes, you can't live a normal middle class life earning that in almost any reasonably sized city, maybe very small towns in the countryside in a cheap state and that's it.

Hey people, long time no see. The year is ending and I believe it was a very good year, tbh my years only get better, even though I did poorly financially and in fitness/diet, everything else went very well, living a really happy life.

I've had some low volume months, but studied a lot and improved like never before: my game is really sharp thanks to the study group and the classes coaches are giving, the material I use to study is very good, insane! Later I've managed to volume more and recently I've developed a system that works! Will finally be able to put some decent volume from now on thanks to that. I've started to play long sessions (3h sessions), twice a day, it's easier for me to get motivation for that.

After some time reflecting, I've developed a plan to improve my results in poker. I've realized that I have trouble sleeping well, I'm always falling asleep during the day and I rest a lot, I sleep in the middle of the day too, that's very likely why I don't have the motivation to put much volume. So I will put most of my effort into diet/fitness in these next 6 months, will obviously play the minimum hands/month required by the team and will study a decent amount (8h/week religiously). Will use these next 6 months to make my body more prepared for more hard work later.

Will update here every 6 months, so here are my goals for the next 6 months:

-40k hands/month minimum
-keep studying with my 2 study groups
-eat healthy and lose weight

Have a nice 2025, happy christmas! Gl!

Hope you do well dude, but at the risk of sounding like a hater (I'm not one), stop putting goals. I always fell and still fall for this crap, but I know what it really is: crap.

You want to play more volume, keep studying and be healthier? Go there and just do it. Then after being successful, you come back here and tell us you succeeded.

Stop being the person who keep saying what you're going to do, to us and to yourself, and start being the person who just do it.

Cheers! Happy new year!

To me, there's no reason to wait for New Year's to start those things. Want to eat better, do it now. Same for exercise, poker volume, and whatever else you want to achieve.

Yeah, started already studying my opponents, vamoooooooo

Btw, made last post on my phone, so didn't have graphs and HH, posting those here:

Graph (got +2bb of rakeback and other site too), weak results and volume, but improved over my last year (got the same hands, but most of the volume is on reg tables now, so more hours)

I don't think 44 should be folded there, especially with your image. I think the best play is to call the turn 3-bet and call the jam that is likely coming on the river. SB can be bluffing and also value betting worse. The other hands are quite a bit wild for sure.
