Not sure if that's DooDooPoker's reason, but having to ask publicly for money after losing it, even if it's a very legitimate reason like normal variance, would definitely affect me and make me play more risk averse. I don't many people who would feel normal doing that 😀

But not giving a lot of money makes total sense from a risk standpoint, other than the potential humiliating effect on weaker mindsets like mine, of making me "beg" for more money in public haha, I'm 100% fine and would do the same in their shoes.

It's public shaming and I'm pretty confident it is done by design this way.

Is there no makeup involved? You just have to publicly ask for more if you bust?

If that's the case, I'd take that all day.

haha no there is 100% makeup. That would be insanity if there wasn't.

Thanks and that sucks you lost $500, people can be degens.

So my take on this is that the amount of buyins shouldn't be set in stone at 10buyins. It should be directly tailored to the player based on previous success and general rapport.

I've been given 10 buyins and I've been given 30 buyins before, I felt more trust with the guy who gave me 30 buyins. I wanted to succeed more for the guy who gave me 30 buyins. I tried harder for the guy who gave me 30 buyins.

I understand it's business, but th

Yeah I agree with you. If you have a long standing relationship w/ a proven winner you trust that makes sense.

But from Saulo's POV where he's running a large scale business it's difficult to incorporate nuance like that tailored to individuals.

And unfortunately people like you are probably the exception and not the rule for the 10 BI thing.

Yeah that was my thought as well. But depending on the person that can kind of work both ways in terms of effectiveness.

Well if you ever leave there and still want to be backed hmu I won't make you beg 😃

lol okay that makes sense. It's also the biggest reason I don't join these programs or ask for stakes. I get it from the staker's side, but the idea of owing money is too stressful for me

Subbing. Good luck out there, DDP

Man I was staked for a year and really grateful for how good my stakers were reading this. 10 buy ins is absurd, often I would buy in for more than 10 tables in a single session. Unfortunately it seems like the best CFPs/Stakers are often pretty secretive and not these well known stables that farm micro profits and affiliate rake.

I also think staking doesn't make a ton of sense except in the case where they are staking you for 1-2 stakes higher than you would normally be able to play with your bankroll. Otherwise they are just taking half your upside and it limits your ability to move up, say if you withdrew profits and now find yourself in makeup, you just have to grind out of it when you realistically could've been playing higher.

Interesting to see different points of view. I always thought the opposite, CFPs with no staking are just a very expensive coaching if you are successful, and if you are not, the risk is all yours.

not an actual risk, most likely would play poker regardless, just not as well

Okay wtf. I'm pretty sure this thread just got me banned from Metagame. I can't access any of their content and my discord messages won't load.

No.... sorry things didn't work out, no goodbye, just 86ed on the spot!

I thought I gave a pretty fair assessment of their product but I guess I ruffled some feathers. I've never been a corporate guy though either, so **** em.

I think it might have to do with you sharing a lot of the data here and other threads. Either way, they should have said something to you.

by MicroDonkYT k

Probably but still, they use our hand histories to get that data. I paid 5k in total and got zero 1 on 1 coaching and never really went to group coaching. I'm basically just paying for their data (data they curate, it isn't actually their data).

They definitely should of least said something or talked to me first. Just removing me from the discord and locking me out of all the content is a bad look for a company.

Either way I will continue to post data and updates in this thread.

Damn sorry to hear that. Yeah that's pretty cold to not even say something along the lines of "Hey you violated rule blah blah blah so we have to end our relationship."

Thanks man I appreciate it. I expected it but I thought they would at least hand me my hat when they escorted me out the door.

On the plus side I get 100% of my profits now and I literally have more MDA than I know what to do with, will play some tonight and might post a few cool HHs.

I thought this hand was cool from an hour ago, villain snap called me OTR. These guys think you're always capped when you check a street, it's too funny.

Wow, probably for the better though. Was your RB through the CFP?

No thank god, imagine that?

I'm going to go on my own for a bit and see how I do but I think I would not join another CFP again, instead I would just pay a very good player for hourly coaching (and never a bunch of hours in advance or package deals I think that lowers the quality of the coaching regardless of what a coach tells you).

That's very unprofessional to kick you out without even informing you or giving a reason. Sounds like you will succeed without them anyway, GL

Do you find the population balances enough on flops like this with big pairs in 3b pots? Do you ever bet boards like this in 3b pots after checked to? I find these textures interesting where we revert back to pre flop ranges as they rarely improve anyone's hand - might be a spot where you should bet the flop heavily as you probably have the best hand a lot, no one really x/r these textures with big pairs, and there's a lot of turn cards that allow you to turn this into a bluff if need be.

What I try to do is think a few streets ahead so sure you can bet flop and exploit the flop node but you're never going to get a stack doing that. And the overfold % is only a few %'s higher than GTO.

I think deferring exploits to the turn/river is higher EV.

Poker is a data game so you need to know xf/xr percentages from population and how far they are deviating from GTO. XR %'s here are still somewhat in line with what a solver would do so I think it's a clear X back OTF (solver mixes so you can do whatever) vs an unknown. Especially taking into account X-B-B lines and X-X lines.

You'll print without them

Totally unprofessional to just boot someone without a reason specified

They can literally just remove anyone for whatever reason whenever they want

I really didn't want to have to do this but my mental health is super important and Metagame forced my hand here. It was either this or get staked to play 500nl and I've been staked for the past 250k hands. I'm done with staking.

I am offering coaching, not sure how long I will do it as I much prefer to play and study. But you never know, it could be fun. And I'm not getting verified so I can get a brown name, my verification is 18k+ posts.
