Reborn: My journey to high stakes
Hello everyone,
My name is Joan, and I currently reside in Mallorca, a small town in the southern part of the island. At the poker tables, I go by the aliases Nogui or Marga808 (on PS). My journey into poker began thanks to my best friend, who introduced me to online poker during a card game, leaving me utterly fascinated. At that time, I was studying computer engineering in Barcelona, feeling unmotivated and having recently stepped away from high-performance sports.
Gradually, I started playing and learning, conquering NL2, NL5, and NL10. However, I hit a plateau at NL25 due to a combination of studying and health issues related to anxiety and depression. Rather than playing consistently for consecutive months, I treated poker as a hobby.
After a long hiatus, I decided to try spin and go games, settling into the €25 spins. Again, I didn't allocate enough time or energy to it, as I was balancing engineering studies with my role as a triathlon coach.
Now, after several more breaks (having even conquered NL100 Zoom in the past), I've returned to the tables with renewed motivation. My health issues are well-managed, allowing me to lead a healthy life. It's worth noting that I work full-time as a data analyst and coach triathlon in the evenings. Almost every day, I carve out time for my poker sessions after dinner.
In early February, armed with a bankroll of €600, I boldly jumped straight to NL50 with an aggressive bankroll management strategy. After a month, I find myself regularly playing NL200 and occasionally hunting down NL500 tables.
I have created this post to document my journey to the highest levels of the .fresh ecosystem and to keep my motivation constant.
I will leave a survey to find out what interests you the most for future posts:
- - Weekly results
- - Monthly results
- - Interesting hands
- - How I play vs fish
I hope you find interesting this results and I would love to receive your feedback.
And feel free to follow me on twitter: @drNogui
Cheers!

Can’t wait for some updates. In. GL
Good morning,
After a few days of playing, pretty flat results. I made some numbers and I decided to try Coin Poker to fight for the leaderboard + 27% RB. What do you think?
27% sounds good. I'm not familiar with Coin Poker, they have a leaderboard race too?
yes! They have a weird weekly leaderboard based on points with differents stakes mixed all in one...
