2024 - It´s all about Heads Up

This year i set myself a challenge to learn and master No Limit Holdem Heads Up. I have been playing a bit of heads up before, but just a little bit here and there and not to serious as i have focused on 6max and fullring play.

So started this month with a new fresh Heads Up challenge, that will last at least the whole year of 2024. And the goal is to prove to myself that i am a winning player at the stakes i am playing.

I play on the Swedish network Svenska Spel, Ipoker skin. Had a really good start the firtst 1200 hands and after that it has gone straight down 😀

Will use this blog to post hands, results, graphs and hope to get some great advice along the way.

At the moment i focus on my SB/BU play as i am a loser from the Sb and winner from BB. Guess it should be the other way around.

The attributed rake for me is at 10BB/100. Is that kinda normal and beatable? And my redline is so terrible, trying to fix it a bit with good spots to checkraise etc but at the moment it has not worked out that well for me.

glgl!

where do you play hu cash?

you are right, sb is the profitable position in hu game.
your bb stat adjusted also is break even which i think is ok for start.
1000 hands in both sb and bb is not enough to analyse imo.

big lever for now is to fix the sb play

you are welcome to share some hu hands

iPoker - kr1 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 99.47 BB
BB: 57.34 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has T 8

Hero raises to 2.5 BB, BB raises to 4 BB, Hero calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (8 BB, 2 players) 8 5 6
BB bets 4 BB, Hero calls 4 BB

Turn: (16 BB, 2 players) K
BB bets 8 BB, fold

BB wins 15.36 BB

Think i should call the turn here as well, to nitty to fold here. On these stakes its a lot of min 3betting pre, but still with a kinda tight 3betting range. Not really sure how i should adjust here, at the moment i call my whole range vs these kinda 3bets and hope to flop well.

Bet turn when checked to here? My opponents kinda stab everytime i check but also dont want to face a checkraise here on turn.

Think this hand is kinda OK, try to get som value from all 1 pair type of hands. When he checkraises its an easy fold - its like always the nuts when they checkraise rivers =)

hand 1. villain turn bet is a call. i dont see too many kings in villains range and was more scared to see clubs or straight draw cards.
hand 2. against aggressive donk bet on the flop, i would shove all in. you got overcards, straght draw and nut flush draw. when you call and miss the draw, your fold equity is gone.
also it is not likely that villain will reduce pressure on later streets.
hand 3. betting that flop structure seems nice. check on turn is ok for pot control and you have enough equity for showdown. river: you bet value with 2 pair and i think folding and calling is close in ev. villain might have K9 or somehow made a flush. shitty spot. villain also might think you bluffbet the 6 on the river because you just checkback turn.

Hand 1. Call him down. Clearly a fish and hes betting half pot in min3bet pot. U got a pair call down.

Hand 2. Would bet turn bet river and bluff. Dude is def is a fish, no reg donks pot there. If hes fish means he can have merge range w like 66, 8x type stuff. So would just b70, b70.

Hand 3. Bet river bigger. Prob fold to the raise is ok if u bet large. As played w ur small bet i would call x.raise.
