A Mixed Game Bankroll Challenge
Quick background: I've made 1 or 2 Poker Blogs/Goals here in the past but I never really went anywhere with it for 1 main reason. I always end up cashing out!
So I'm creating this blog to help keep me in check. And since I won't be cashing out, I might as well make it a bankroll challenge while I'm at it. I suppose an end goal of sorts will be running it up to a decent amount, enough to finally play respectable stakes. I always treated this as a hobby depositing $20 and playing micros or low stakes MTTs and anytime my roll got to $100 or $200 I would cash out. So I want to see how far I can really go. I'd like to eventually play $1/$2 Big O or $3/$6 FLO8. If I can get to those stakes just on my ability alone by running it up I'd consider this a success.
I'll be playing on WPN (BCP), and SWC mainly. And the games I'll be spending most of my time on are Big O and PLO8/NLO8 MTTs since I can get nonstop action on those variants on WPN. From time to time I'll play some other games on SWC if I get any action. My favorite (and strongest) games are razz & triple draw so if I can get action in those variants on SWC, I'll document it. I've done really well playing drawmaha on SWC and there are a lot of people playing that game on there so expect some of that as well 😀
I won't be setting any specific goals like playing "x" amount of hands or playing "x" amount of tournaments. I've noticed those types of goals are never really fun after a certain amount of time so I'm going to keep it real basic with this one. Mostly just bankroll progression updates + hand histories.
So the end/main goal: Just play my best and try to run it up AND do NOT CASH OUT (Unless it's to transfer money around to other sites).

I will be starting at the very bottom. Deposit $10 and try running it up as much as I can. So for now any updates will mostly be cash games playing $0.01/$0.02 Big O and $0.55 and $1.00 MTTs (PLO8, NLO8, and Big O. Turbos & PKOs).

This is pretty exciting for me because they never had any razz or stud tables (They're going t have a stud mystery bounty as well). Hopefully this isn't a one time thing and they'll start running razz & stud cash game tables! Currently there are no cash game tables in this variant though
Got 2nd place in a $1.65 Stud HI MTT. Probably could have gotten 1st place but after 7 hours of play, and oppoenent not wanting to take a deal, i just didnt have it in me to play any more. I just spewed and called off with any pair just to try and finish the tourny.
I was really happy with the way I played before I got heads up though. 😀 Won $19
Lost some money in other MTTs and cash game so right now my bankroll hasn't really moved up that much. Still at around $80
PLO8 MTTs are so frustrating at times.
I had a healthy stack when it gets checked to me in the BB I have QJ44. Flop comes JJ4. Button bets pot. I jam all in. He calls with KJ58. 8 on the river and I lose. I made the final table with 10 bigs but busted to a standard hand.
Then I lose a stud hi hand where i have AA7. This other person caps 3rd, 4th and 5th street and he ends up getting a flush but was betting 7s. I lost with a straight. usually i wouldnt play so aggressive against a random person. I'd assume they had a premium holding but this guy was capping and raising everyone with any 3 cards. He was showing a 3 and was capping against an Ace and King showing in another hand so i knew he was just spewing. Figured this would be an easy double up
Just re bought into the stud tourney and got into another hand with the same person. This time they had a good hand (TTT) but i had a flush draw. As usual he capped every hand and i made a flush on 5th street (which he capped) and I just doubled up my stack
Sucks when they accidently make a flush or str8 with their hidden or split pairs...
Go get them now!
I think I am playing above my means with some of these MTTs. I've lost quite a bit playing the $5.50 stud hi/lo and Big O MTTs. The Big O MTT's have crazy variance to them since you can get up to 3-4 to a flop with everyone calling PLO hands and any A2xxx combo meaning you basically have to have the nuts to win. With Cash Im doing well but Big O MTTs are really hurting me and hurting my mental game.
Going to cut those out of the mix.
For now the only MTTs I'll play are (and only occasionally):

Also I'm not doing too well with 5 card Omaha at the moment, specifically the 4max tables. I do well when it's HU but once it gets 3 or 4 handed, I don't play as well. I tend to still play preflop and 3bet calling ranges beter suited for HU play and I am getting into risky spots.

The SWC Bitcoin Series of Poker is coming up in a few days also. The Whale PLO PKO sounds really fun and is only about $15 (250 chips). The following are the ones I'm most excited for:

Lastly, back to WPN, the next few days I will be trying to replenish my roll playing Big O and smaller stakes Stud 8 ($0.04/$0.08 because $0.10/$0.20 is too high for my current roll. There has also been stud hi tables running at $0.04/$0.08 and I much prefer Stud Hi)
My strategy for Big O Cash games will be to buyin short, 40BBs and run it up to at least 200-400BBs before leaving and starting again at 40BBs. I'll post some hands in a few hours.
ACR Bankroll - $50
2nd in chips in the HORSE BSOP tournament. Already have $157 locked in for 2nd place. 1st place is about $243.
Razz tournament is in 2 days. Excited to play in that one 😃
Ended up getting 2nd place after the guy sucked out on the river in a very big Fixed Limit Holdem hand. Bummer

Just took down the $500 5-card PLO8 PKO MTT on WPN for $150 😀
unfortunately i did have to make some withdraws so my bankroll is still not too big. I think I've taken out like $100 in the past month and right now my roll is at $160 (plus I have some extra cash on some other sites as well). I only had $10 when i entered this tournament because i took money out yesterday (that was one 1 of the 2 times i took out money for some emergencies).
I also did very well in the $300 Big O Turbo MTTs. Twice I made the final table which got my roll to about $80.
But hopefully I dont have to take any money out for the foreseeable future. Dont have any plans so hopefully no emergencies.

Anyways this $500 Big O PKO was just a something I played cuz I was bored, not to sleepy and since I only had $10 on the site after taking some money out I figured I'd gamble and it paid off.
I was playing really well that I didnt even realize we were 1 player away from bursting the bubble. And once we got to about 15 people left I busted the guy with the biggest bounty ($29) + I had knocked out a few players before. I was fine with just that haha..
But right after busting him out, i busted someone else with a $5 bounty.
Then once we got to the final table I was about 7 of 9. I was just hoping to outlast 1 or 2 more players for a nice $30 payout but somehow, and even with only 5bb I managed to outlast half the table and even knocked out a small $3 bounty and made it 4 handed.
It was like this for a while and i was sure i was done for but somehow i made it to the final 3 players.
Again, i thought I was done for cuz eventually i got down below 10BB but somehow I outlasted 1 player after a long 3 handed battle. I forced myself to not go on "WINNERS TILT" because this is a problem i have when I start getting tired at final tables.
Luckily I outlasted player #2 and the HU session was pretty short. Here is the final hand where I had aces but ended up getting a full house with my K7 holding (AAKT7). I guess he didnt believe me cuz he went all in on the turn when he hit his flush. 😀
I also started playing some PLO8 sit n goes. They run pretty frequently and I've been doing well in that arena as well as the $3.30 Big O turbo.
With this roll I can play that tourny daily so hopefully I run good and keep building my roll 😀
Kinda all over the place so going to finish this post up and head to bed and hopefully I can come up with a good schedule of sit n goes and MTTs I can play from now on.
