19DelPiero81´s Poker Journey

First sessions and first post of a new blog. Like everyone else i will update hands, results etc etc of my poker journey.

Playing on the swedish network Svenska Spel and the lowest stakes available. First goal is a volume goal, 50 000 hands.

The players are extremely bad and i need to learn to adjust against them. First session went kinda bad.

Some hands from the session:

Hand 1

Can i get away from this one or did i just lost the minimum here, cooler?

Another bad session today, this blog surely didnt start well. But think i´ll need some patience and the results will come ´cause my opponents are terrible....but its kinda frustrating when you dont hit anything vs these 90/5 players.

Any advice on playing multiway pots cause like 80% of pots are 3-4 ways...?

Todays graph

The full house hand is probably a fold. If you think a player is bad and plays very face up then you should probably trust they've got something pretty good when they make a pot sized bet on the river.

You lost the minimum against the pocket kings but I don't really understand the line that either of you took. I would have lost more because I definitely would have raised the minbets to get value out of top pair and to pressure ace-highs.

That AK hand wasn't great. Remember that a bet serves one of two purposes. It is either for value or it is a bluff. So it either wants worse hands to call or it wants better hands to fold. On a low board like this AK high can often be the best hand but that bet on the flop is only ever going to be called by hands that have you beaten.

In multiway pots you have to play more face up in general, especially from out of position. Put money in with good hands and get out of there when somebody seems more excited about it than you are. Single pair value goes way down while things like sets and straights become better. Hands like small pocket pairs have huge value in these sort of situations because the more people there are the more likely somebody finds top pair or two pair. Hitting a set usually gets paid off.

Beware of putting money in with hands that have reverse implied odds too. Some seemingly good hands can end up backfiring. This is always a thing but it is a much bigger factor in multiway pots. A suited connector making two pair means that it is easier for opponents to have straights. Also be careful with low flushes because often you're only going to get much interest from bigger flushes.

Stick with it man and don't focus too much on the results of each small session as it is the big picture that matters. Best of luck on the tables!

CIAO!!

Adjusted my play and started playing pocket pairs, Axs and some suited connectors in certain situations. The positional stats are really fishy and nitty and it seems like im not positional aware but vs these kind of opponents it works kinda well. Maybe i should open up my stealing range from button but these ranges works well at the moment. And of course i know i cant play like this when i move up in stakes in the future.

Been a while since last update, but have not been playing that much. A lot of my free time goes to watching the european championships in football. Kinda sad that sweden missed the championship, but at least i have my favourites Italy in. Exciting game tonight vs Croatia.

But i´ve managed a few shorter sessions and a bit over 1000 hands since last update, and things are going well. Running good at the moment but the games are so fishy....its like going back to 2005 or something.

Stats so far: (I know i play like a nit and i have to change things in the future, but working really well at these stakes)
