Poker life blog
Hello everyone,
I want to share my day-to-day life as I strive to become the best poker player I can be. I'll try to give details about how I organize myself, what I plan to do depending on the phase I'm in, and what my short, medium, and long-term goals are.
For now, I'm playing NL500 and I already feel quite comfortable in the pools where I'm playing. However, the main goal is to evolve and continue climbing stakes.
Daily goals:
- Play between 6-8 hours (currently, I'm playing 6 hours, but I'll try to gradually increase this)
- Study/review sessions daily (at least 45 minutes)
- Exercise (at least 30 minutes)
- Journaling
One of the main problems I currently face is how easily I get distracted in my day-to-day life. I often fall into the temptation of spending too much time on social media or procrastinating for hours on end. Therefore, one of my main focuses in the coming period will be to control the urge for easy dopamine and be more efficient with my time.
My main goal at the moment is to stick to this program for the next 30 days. If something happens that makes sense to change, I will also share it here.

Hey,
It's great that you’re prioritizing both your physical and mental well-being and that you’re aiming to be more efficient and mindful of your activities.
Wishing you the best of luck on your journey!
This week, I started with a fairly low volume. I'm still organizing myself to improve my day so I can have more energy to play the hours I intend to. Additionally, I feel quite uncomfortable grinding for more than 2 hours per session, and it takes me a while to regain the energy to sit down and play again.
It's been quite difficult to reduce the time I spend on somewhat futile activities throughout my day, which consume energy and mental space, thereby affecting my performance. However, in terms of studying, I'm doing much better than in recent months. I've been able to immerse myself and focus much more, and I believe that in the near future, I'll be able to consistently apply what I've been studying.

I want to talk a bit about what I believe is crucial for achieving the best possible performance in poker. I think it's much more than just technical knowledge.
thank you!
What kind of game are you playing? SNG, MTT or Cash?
Thanks, i didnt't see...
Hello again, here is the update for the second week after the start of this topic:
At the tables:
It was quite an interesting week. I found some incredible games and had some spots that could have been very profitable. I’m still not performing at the level I aim for during my grinding sessions, but I’m getting closer to what I expect to be my average level. I also tried to play longer sessions whenever I had better games and felt quite comfortable doing so.
Off the tables:
I managed to put in a lot of study hours, especially focusing on organizing and creating a method to track what I’m doing at the tables right now and to continue evolving. My daily routine is much more organized as I intended, and this will make a big difference in both the volume and quality of my play in the coming times.
Goals for the next weeks:
My goals for the upcoming weeks will be to maintain everything I’ve been building over these past two weeks, especially my routines and study method.
Another week, and what a wild roller coaster ride it's been!
The week kicked off with some surreal results, but things quickly changed, which really threw me off. I try not to let outcomes swing my emotions too much, but it’s hard not to feel the highs and lows. It was interesting to ride that wave of anticipation and frustration. The good thing about these situations is the chance to reflect and learn, even when the results aren’t great. I realized I was making some mistakes, especially in how I was thinking about certain in-game situations. So, I’m focusing on getting back to my A-game.
On the bright side, it was a great week for studying poker and personal growth. I cut out a lot of activities that weren’t helping me reach my goals and started to really enjoy the things I’m passionate about, instead of just filling time. Sticking to my physical activity routine has been a game-changer, too. Starting my day with a workout helps me stay disciplined for the rest of the day.
I’m excited to see what the next week brings!
That's great balance to keep lifestyle in moderation. Thank you sharing.
