2NL - GOAT status

2NL - GOAT status

Hey gang,

First post on here so I mightÂ’ve put it in the wrong place but for the record everything here will pertain to the micros and online cash.

Last thing I ever told my brother was my dream of becoming the very best at poker, specifically cash. Rest in peace Josh IÂ’ll do it for you.

IÂ’ve been playing live for a few years, and online for about a year on ignition (break even in cash, wildly losing in SNGs and MTTs) IÂ’m done with ignition due to the constant freezing out of my account and the anonymity in cash games which really makes it hard to build player profiles. (I have yet to use a hud but IÂ’m wildly interested)

IÂ’m obsessed with the game and improving, finding exploits and new insights from GTOw which I study almost every day. That said, IÂ’m still a hugely losing player, mostly due to bankroll mismanagement, tilt and inexperience. I have thousands of hours of studying to go to make it to the top, and 0 bankroll right now.

In the mean time IÂ’m going to post strategy threads regularly on any solver outputs or hypothetical exploits you guys can surely provide input on as we try to grind out of the micros.

I need a new laptop to play ACR, I plan on starting at 4NL in a month or so, but in the meantime IÂ’d like to start a discussion about some fun exploits/solver outputs IÂ’ve discovered so far.

1. Was really honing in on GTOw compare EV option. Was disappointed to find the huge difference in EV loss between a 25% pot bet and 125% all other flop bet options (on almost all flops) for SRP IP Bu v BB. EV regret was usually like .4 - 1.4 bb/100 for all value holdings. Whenever I see the solver recommend something so heavily I wonder why, my guess is it forces too strong a contiuation range from BB.

DonÂ’t have nodelocking so if anyone could see if villain over calls or overfolds this spot (which is why I like the 125% bet) how the outputs change.

2. Fun little insight from todays compare
EV function. If you look at BB response vs a CO open and BU call, or BU raise and SB call, YOU FIND THAT ALL PAIRS, SUITED CONNECTORS and many suited one gappers like 86s, T8s are -.01 EV or better if raised to 14BB. Strategy says to fold all these holdings but the EV is the same, could use it more so against opponents who over fold vs a squeeze, or who will overpay your value.

Anyway next post I do IÂ’ll have screenshots for all of these in the solver. Let me know what exploits/insights we can gain.

Just some goals for me to keep track of:

Get two jobs (recently had a sudden move so starting from scratch)

Save up 600-1000$ for
-laptop to run ACR
-100-200$BR for 5NL or 10NL
-Poker Tracker
-GTOwizard account upgrade (optional until I’m getting really good volume in)

I’m a server by vocation so scraping up 1000$ won’t be too hard.

Until then I plan to study every day, send more hypothetical scenarios and exploits or insights, maybe even make a channel where we go through these spots.

Once I’m playing part time my goal is to make it to 25NL or 50NL and play full time. I don’t care if I make less it was never about the money. I want to be the best.

My goal is to make it to the highest stakes in 1.5 years. Off only online volume that seems extremely difficult but I plan on supplementing some live play with good table selection. In the past when I was dialed in at live play I could easily make numbers like that. (I did grind full time payed my bills for 4 months strictly playing online, doesn’t make me a net winner by any means but i was one tenth of the player I was back then)
