Grinding for Thailand - MTT Bankroll Challenge
Hello guys and welcome to my new grinding project. Since I have just set up a new sheet for tracking and also deposited money on several poker sites I thought it might be also a good idea to write about the journey in here. My goal is to build my bankroll up from 1,3k to 15k and then move to south east asia and stay there for at least 6 months - preferably in Thailand where I've been before 5 yrs ago and had the best time of my life.
Due to personal and political circumstances it might be the case that I will move to Thailand before the Bankroll hits the 15k mark. In that case I will just sell all my belongings, give up the apartment i'm currently living in, pack my dog and go to the airport. Either way I am ready go grind my ass off to make things happen asap.
So right now we are living in Europe, where I tried to establish a life in Germany close to family and friends but it did not work out, at least not for me. Things are getting tougher and rougher on a daily basis and I don't want to deal with it anymore.
Back to the actual Bankroll Challenge. I am prepared for the grind on different levels except Bankrollmanagement. For me it is very important to get my **** together and the financial health is part of it. Especially in Poker where the Bankroll is an important tool. To support myself having a better relationship with money I will use a simple tracker and update my Blog on a regular basis.
The weekend is ahead so I will start off playing $2 - $11 MTTs. To play higher limits I try to play Satellites and make use of promotions.
First small goal within the challenge is to earn $700 which would allow me to play the $15 & $22s and play Satellites for higher ones.
So I guess that's it for the start. As a Gamer by heart, there is obv a lot for me in this game than just money. But I really feel that it is time to move on in life which requires simply way more money than I have right now to my name. That's why I can imagine that the blog will be very money-orientated in the first place.
Thanks for reading and I hope you will follow me in this crazy journey!

Hey DrJuan. GLGL on your journey. Wishing you the best
Gl op. Hope you get back to banging the ladyboys in Thailand soon.
Thanks guys for the wishes!
In hindsight I was probably overdue for holidays when created this thread so after a couple of bad sessions I packed my bag and went to a trip to the north sea and also attended the birthday parties of my parents end of July. It was a great trip both for my mental and physical health.
Regarding Thailand I have changed my mind. Didn't know that my family needs me. So will just move to their area and give support and guidance whenever needed. My father just turned 72 and is already by far the oldest man in the history of our family. Also I want to be a good brother and uncle and have the feeling that just being around already had a positive impact on them and vice versa.
Right now I am back in my apt. Just opened the poker clients and counted the bankroll. Left with 1k to play with. Will take part in a promotion this month where I can win free entries to higher MTTs and more important, free coaching lessons from a good player. Besides playing and getting better I have nothing to do this month so I am pretty confident to finish first and win those prizes! Missed the first days of August but that's fine for me.
just finished the last tournament with a win in a small PKO to enjoy a planned day off tomorrow when I will hopefully not turning on the computer at any point. Instead, spending most of the time outside with my dog and friends.
Although I am on a good streak with 8 sessions in a row I have also noticed that I can't go the full schedule today while also missreading some hands.
Time to take a day off and come back for the weekend grind.
Current standings of the challenge:
so far so good. There is so much room for improvement that I am taking it very relaxed day by day adjusting to what I see and experience on the tables.
Thanks for reading! Will probably update one more time before WCOOP kicks off.
