A Grand Don't Come for Free - $0 to $1000 playing poker on stake.us

Starting a new challenge for myself. I will be updating this thread regularly with my progress.

I'm going to start with $0 in my account on the website stake.us and try to make $1000 playing online poker. Online poker is relatively new on stake.us and the games are extremely soft. The site is fenced-in to players in the USA and uses a sweepstakes model similar to Global Poker.

I've been playing up to 100NL on this site for several months. So far, I've made $7,500 in profit. I recently withdrew my balance and now I want to try and grind it back up without re-depositing. I am a live reg who learned poker by playing 5NL on Bovada during COVID. I have a long thread documenting my ups and downs in live poker here: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/174/p...

Stake.us, which is mainly an online casino, has a feature where every day you can redeem a free $1 in sweepstakes coins to play with. I will use this "Daily Dollar" to play 2NL. Every day I will have an opportunity to spin it up, or the chance to add an additional $1 to my bankroll. Additionally, the site runs daily freeroll tournaments which are extremely soft. Eventually, I will move up to 10NL and beyond. I will not be adhering to any sort of bankroll management. I expect I will go broke several times and will be re-starting at $0 each time.

I'm doing this because the daily grind of playing 50NL and 100NL became frustrating and I was looking to change it up. I was reading user Zefa's PB&G thread and was somewhat inspired when I read "Personality-wise I've always enjoyed restarting a bankroll from lower stakes and running it up and in Video games too, I always enjoy starting over fresh for a new playthrough."

That's it for now! Hopefully will be updating this thread soon

have you considered playing in the pits?

Ha, I thought there might be some 2p2ers on stake.us. I've been playing there recently and having success. Every time I try to move up, though I run terribly lol, so hopefully, I can get better luck soon.

I also dislike not having a HUD or being able to use PT4, but I think it contributes to the softness of the site. Better players probably prefer to play elsewhere.

GL out there!
