$100 to whatever - re-learning cash and the pokers

Hello,

Will keep this kind of short. Using this thread to document my progress.

Between around 2010 and 2019 I was a casual MTT player, had a positive ROI over probably the last 2 years of that time at stakes between $5.5 and $30 but never fully committed to improving my game or maintaining a bankroll, quite often dipping into my "life roll" to play games here and there.

Around the end of 2019, work opportunities came up that meant that I couldn't dedicate significant time to playing MTTs, despite trying, work life balance was poor and so I took myself away from the online tables. I did try and switch to SNGs initially, but found them boring and would often auto pilot too hard. I also tried cash back then but my aggressive MTT mindset always seemed to hinder my results and I never made the swtich to cash and opted to put poker to bed for some time.

Now 2024, I realised how much I missed the game and wanted to explore options to play again. Played a bunch of MTTs but found I don't have the same focus or hunger that I used to have, despite still being able to have a positive ROI over a small sample. I also still wanted the option to put down the tables when I need to and feel like it so thought I would revisit cash. I am also in my 40's and not sure I could stay awake past 9pm or do long sessions like I used to :p

I have just started a cash game training course, I won't say who with because I am not looking for a debate on whether the particular course is good or not, I am happy so far and thats what matters to me.

So the goal, start with a $100 roll, hit the micro cash streets and keep learning and improving in cash. Things have changed a lot strategy wise in the last 5 years it seems so I fully expect to be losing/break even at best at least for the short term. Expect charts and roll updates along with hand histories for discussion.

Starting Roll: $100
Current Stakes: 2nl
