$45,088 in 57 days challenge

Hello,

My bankroll is currently sitting at $54,912, and I'm setting myself a challenge to get it up to $100,000 by the end of 2024. I have 57 days to do it, which means I need to make ~$800/day to get there. Is this goal optimistic? Certainly. Is it unrealistic? Absolutely not.

A bit about me: I'm a 20yo student from the US and have been playing poker for ~3-4 years, studying poker for ~16 months, and taking poker super seriously for ~8 months. After I graduate from university in 2027 I hope to become a professional poker player. In October I had four straight losing weeks after making 50k in September. Last week I only played 6 hours of online private games, compared to the 30+ hour weeks I was putting together in September: I am disappointed in myself, motivated to do better, and want to hold myself accountable by setting a goal.

The Plan:

  • Play 35 hours/week in private online clubs (I should just about be able to make my goal from this alone)
  • Play every live private game 2/5+ that I am invited to (more enjoyable, lower variance, and comparable if not higher hourly than online)
  • Temporarily stop playing public online games to save energy for the nightly private grind
  • Coaching/staking deal with IRL friend to crush private game, and actively find more students to coach online as I will no longer be grinding ACR during the day
  • Play well, run well

I will update every week on Monday. Until next time, best of luck out there 😀
