From ABI $50 to $10000 (MTT Blog)
Hi everyone.
I’m 30 years old bearded man from Kyiv.
My first encounter with poker was back in the 2010s. I started as a hobby player, making small deposits of $20–$50 on PokerStars and playing a mix of cash games, Spin & Go’s, and low-stakes tournaments.
In 2020, I decided to take poker seriously and joined a poker school. My journey started with an ABI of $5, grinding small tournaments.
Within nine months, I had progressed to an ABI of $20.
During that time, I was coached by Alex Zubov (0_really, AlexZa3) and Kot Spartac. I also became a coach myself, spending the last 11 months of my time there mentoring others.
In early 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, I decided to leave the school.
I played independently for six months, but due to poor tournament selection and gaps in my knowledge, my win rate dropped to 7bb/100 at ABI $20.
Realizing I needed more support, I joined another poker school in late 2022, where I was coached by top players like S. Kharchenko (D3km4n) and CLIO.
Over the next 15 months, I significantly improved my skills, refined my tournament selection, and peaked with a win rate of 14bb/100 at ABI $30.
By February 2024, I had reached the highest possible limits within the school (ABI $50) and decided to pursue my own career.
For the past eight months, I’ve been playing independently with an ABI of $40–$60 and a win rate of 11bb/100.
I focus heavily on improving my game using tools like GTO Wizard, HRC Pro, and Flopzilla. I also study with a friend who plays at an ABI of $200.
I’m not entirely sure what direction this blog will take, but I know I want to set clear goals for the next year.
I’m also considering offering MTT coaching, drawing from my experience being coached by top professionals with various play styles and strategies.
For now, I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m excited to share my journey, strategies, and challenges with all of you
PS: I used ChatGPT to help polish this post as English is not my native language😀
My Goals and Plans for 2025
As we step into a new year, I’ve decided to set clear goals for myself in both poker and personal life. 2025 is going to be about discipline, consistency, and growth. Here’s what I’m aiming for:
Crucial Goals
1. Play 6,000 Tournaments
This is my primary poker goal for the year. It’s ambitious but achievable if I maintain consistency and manage my schedule effectively.
2. Lose 10 kg (22 lbs)
Current weight: 110 kg (242 lbs)
Height: 190 cm (6’3”)
To achieve this, I plan to visit the gym at least twice a week and improve my overall lifestyle. This is not just about appearance—it’s about health and longevity.
3. Learn Spanish
I’ve attempted to learn Spanish two or three times before, but now I’m determined to make it happen. My goal is to reach a basic conversational level, enough to handle small talk confidently.
Plan: Take at least one Spanish lesson per week.
Additional Goals/Plans
1. Resume Poker Coaching.
2. Start Streaming on Twitch
If streaming doesn’t negatively affect my game, I’d love to share my sessions with a broader audience.
3. Reach ABI $100
By improving my game and bankroll management, I aim to consistently play at an ABI of $100 by the end of 2025.
I’ll keep this blog updated with my progress, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback along the way. Let’s make 2025 a great year!
Today's result:
• Session duration: 7h 30min
• # of tournaments: 31
• Session profit: -$509
• Monthly profit: +$180
• Monthly # of tournaments: 57
