PokerAlfie - World Class Artificial intelligence Poker Player

Hey there! Nice app.

Played 5k hands and won at 6bb/100, started losing big until I found it's weaknesses.

It will make crazy calls against overbets on the river x3 or x4, a lot of them on paired boards with things like K high on a board where plenty of hands were possible. So easy to get a lot of value from your strong hands.

If you found a way to fix that, it would be amazing and harder to beat.

I just published the new version v5.2, it has new Poker AI v5.2.
AI v5.2 improves the calling issue on the river.

Thank you for making this great product! Is there a way to see the hand history after the tournament? Like my old hands? Is that stored somewhere?

In the current version, PokerAlfie does not save hand history after a session has ended.

Does this game change the cards or opponent hands when player bets? I'm starting to think this is the case. Every time I have a hand the computer somehow has a better hand.

You accuse the app of fraud!!! Are you kidding? Shame on you!!! Have you ever asked yourself: How can other players win against PokerAlfie over the course of 5000+ hands? Or do you think the app only cheats weak players?

Variance is very big in poker. We are using standard random function to generate cards in game. It can happen, that in one session (300 or more hands) on average you get better or worse hands then average – because variance is very big in poker. This happens in any serious poker app.

The probability that the opponent gets full house on the river (without knowing your cards) is:
(3 + 3 + 3) / (52 - 6) = 19.565217%
The probability that the opponent gets four of a kind on the river (without knowing your cards) is:
1 / (52 - 6) = 2.083333%
SO, THE PROBABILITY FOR THE OPPONENT TO GET BETTER HAND ON THE RIVER THEN YOURS IS:
19.565217% + 2.083333% = 21.64855%
IT IS MORE THEN 1/5 !!!
Once you learn poker odds, all poker apps will stop cheating you - believe me 😉

The probability that you get flash on the turn (without knowing opponent's cards) is:
(13 - 4) / (52 - 5) = 19.148936%
First you get lucky on the turn, then opponent gets lucky on the river – You are playing poker!

Never mind me! I'm just frustrated with this crazy streak. But on the plus side it is helping me to manage my emotional reactions and that is only good at the tables. Thanks for a great program Alex! I think it needs to kick my butt so that I get stronger. Like tough love! LOL I'm also learning never go for a flush on a paired board because a full house it too easy to get! Does it learn how I play and come up with a new strategy to beat me?

PokerAlfie doesn't adapt to your strategy. So, when you discover a weakness, you can exploit it to infinity and beyond. But if you notice, for example, that PokerAlfie bluffs too much in a certain situation, that doesn't mean he's always bluffing. Example: Say PokerAlfie bluffs 40% of the time with certain hands in particular situation, but the optimal play is to bluff 15% of the time so you can take advantage.

Hi, question for you. I've won the tournament several times now, each time it says I am now level 2 but every time I win again it says Level 2 not level 3. Is there no progression? I am losing more tournaments than winning.

Hi, just wanted to add a tip for users. Since only the last dozen or so hand histories are shown I have two notepads opened the left one is the scratch pad, the right is the saved hand history that I have for review. After every hand I have action on I look at the hand history, copy it all to the scratch and cut and paste the wanted info to the saved hand side. Then rinse and repeat. It would be so nice to see this as a hand history log per tournament that gets saved to a text document in the root of the game folder for the entire game.

If you win a tournament the level increases, but if you use Ask AI the level stays the same.
Your tournament level is saved separately for each AI (v3.1/v4.0/v5.2). I will improve the hands history function.

I don't ask AI for help but the level keeps resetting when I lose and I'm never above level 2.
