I got a Royal Flush and won $3
I was playing the OE mixed game at Harrah's in AC Monday night. When this hand took place, the game was Stud H/L.
Dealer pulls the antis in - eight players, $16 total.
Cards are dealt, someone brings in with a low card, I have three clubs so I call. Everyone else folds.
I hit my flush on fifth street so I am betting but I get raised on 6th Street so I am pretty confident that he made a low and am also not worried that he might get a straight.
After the last card is dealt, I flip them all up and say flush.
Look more closely and notice that 7th Street gave me a royal flush! Wow!
Villain indeed had a low so we pulled in our bets and the dealer dutifully split the pot into two piles.
He took the rake already - $5 max because you want to bet your premium hands! - so I got $6.
I tipped him a dollar for his service so I won $5.
For the lols I called "High Hand" (narrator's voice: this game didn't qualify for the High Hand promotion).
The floor person did not lol.
I was reminded by a friend of mine that I contributed two bucks myself so my net was actually only $3 after tip.
I thanked him for somehow making it worse.
I think it's possible that I made the least amount of money with a royal flush in the history of poker.
That somehow makes it better, or at least pretty funny.
[The subject should not be $7, that would have been a monster...]

You should have at least gotten a hat.
I don't understand OP. Maybe try betting more?
This is a high low split game, and it sounds like by the time he had a flush he was head up with someone who likely had a low. Unfortunately, in split pot games you can have a monster hand and sometimes still only win half of a small pot.
