$100.000 profit at 20nl
Hi,
I've started this thread in order to document my journey towards $100k profit, playing only 20nl.
A bit about me:
- I'm From Slovenia
- 25 y/o
- Very handsome
- A student
- I go to the gym 3-4x per week
That's about it.
I've already spent most of 2018 playing 20nl, therefore the results from this year will be included into the challenge.
- I've been playing 1200-1400 hands/hr (fast poker)
- My hourly in 2018 has been around $20-25/hr
I'll be making updates once per month, till I achieve my goal.
Rules:
- Don't ask where I play
- Don't ask about my strat
You are part of Balkan, you will get a nice portion of that 20k back 😃

I didn't play much poker this month, but did study quite a bit. I've completely rebuilt my default postflop gameplan in a way that should be maximally exploiting the population. I do expect for my WR to increase a bit due to this, but we'll see by how much exactly.

Doesn't it feel like they just always get there in these spots?
I would have jus gone slightly larger otf and jammed turn, why did you opt for checking there?
Well played on KK hand. Fish are gonna fish 😀
I would have jus gone slightly larger otf and jammed turn, why did you opt for checking there?
Solver would've probably checked the turn, especially with K♦ and I just didn't have an exploitative reason to deviate.
Are you saying that the rec will call a turn shove more than MDF and not bet often enough vs a check? It's possible, I just didn't have a solid reason/MDA data to think so.
It seems completely plausible to me that he'd float the flop with air vs the small bet and then bluff jam the turn. Or thin value shove low pairs to protect vs ~AK.
I honestly am not sure what the optimal line is, but am open to opinions.
What do you think about checking the river with KK? Could that be a thing?
Checking turn is good since we are vs a fish and we know how they play after calling flop (they bet turn 10% more than theory).
River you check hands that block his value and unblock bluffs so you'd check a hand like JJ in this spot or a hand like TT on QT5xx. C-X-F is overfolded so this is a good bluff line as well. Fish X back more value hands than regs when you look at range composition OTR so with a hand like KK jamming will be better than checking river but if we have JJ we X river to let him bluff.
Very well played.
Another thing to note is the fish call2bet/call3bet range is very wide as you can see here so we always cbet range OTF.

I guess I don't know... but I'd imagine he'd have a lot of pp, maybe some broadways/AX.. I don't expect him to bluff turn when x to very often and would expect most of his pairs to always call a jam. You also run into fish just calling the turn with hands like AQ high non-zero amt also.
I wouldn't have included j7o in his range though, so there is that.
The more he bluffs or jams his pp when x to the more reasonable it is to x turn, but I'd imagine turn x freq here is quite high personally. 18bb 3b pre was pretty large and turn is ~1spr.

Yeah, but they can also underfold turns vs a barrel. This makes these spots pretty tricky (even in SRP).

I'm aware of that 😀
They also don't raise enough, which makes it even more of a range bet.

I didn't have time to play a lot of poker this month due to various wedding preparations, birthdays and practices for the first dance. My goal for June is to play 50k+ hands and make at least 2k profit from poker.
I ended up buying a 1000€ suit. There were probably cheaper options, but I liked this one:

How's the married life going?
What's the plan for honeymoon?
^ The married life is surprisingly similar to the life before marriage 😃
The wedding was really fun. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.
For honeymoon we're going to Maldives. It's gonna cost ~5000€, but will hopefully be worth it.

My volume has been pretty awful lately, partially because of the wedding stuff, but also due to my sheer laziness.
The last time that I had a 40k+ hand month was back in March, so I'm setting that as my goal for November. If I don't reach 40k hands, I'll send €50 to one of the last five people who post here as a penalty.
I set this rule to limit my procrastination, as I happen to be more greedy than I am lazy.

Yeah, it's a bigger difference for couples that didn't already live together before the marriage.

Technically, I could run 10 marathons by the end of the year too, but let's be real - it ain't happening 😃
