My Journey the the Stars (But not on PokerStars) - Cash Game Blog RNC

Hello Everyone,

First, I want to start by saying a few things about myself. I'm a regular full-time employee working at home for a BPO company in my homeland Colombia, I used to mix poker to have some extra income, playing mainly cash games between NL10 and NL25 but due to other commitments, I withdrew my entire bankroll and stopped playing.

A couple of days ago, GGPoker gave me C$50 to have fun I guess. Since last year I haven't played a single hand on the platform. But I decided to give it a shot to poker again. Therefore I played some hands on NL5 being like 1 buy-in below. For some reason, I changed my mind and started to play 4 RNC NL2 tables with a good session result. My goal for the day was only to convert the C$ to real USD$ and take the money.

However, I decided to be more ambitious and give it another shot to poker, I'm not bored at my current job but I know that with hard work, deep study of the game, and developing a good mental, I can reach mid and why not, high stakes. I have access to some good material from Spaniards pros and I want to work as hard as I can to go beyond my limits. And to commit to the challenge, for the first time in my life, I will start a blog to keep track of my progress and keep sharpening my English writing skills.

All of this is part of a self-development path that I'm taking, having good habits, working out at the gym, following a nutritional plan with my nutritionist, meditating, and reading finance and self-development books. Focusing mainly on reaching full independence, confidence, and masculinity development.

Probably in later posts, I can tell more things about my lifestyle, but let's go back to poker, The goal is to escalate limits handling a 30 buy-ins bankroll, so once I reach $150+, I will jump to NL5. I don't want to deposit a single penny, so, that's why I want to start conservatively. Depending on my progress I will give shots to higher stakes.

So, here are the principles I will follow in this challenge to the stars

  • Only RNC tables starting, later I will evaluate the option to play regular tables.
  • 6 Max only
  • 30 Buy in Bankroll to go up (or down) on limits
  • Study hard MF!!
  • Enjoy the process and not be result-oriented.
  • Put a decent volume, not less than 20k hands per month.
  • Reach $5K bankroll Goal within a year time, everything counts, rakeback, bad beat jackpot, promos, etc, some luck in a donkament, etc.

Cheers to everyone and good luck at the tables.

Hello everyone!!

I'm back, and I come with a lot of updates.

First of all, if anyone by chance was following this blog, I sincerely apologize for leaving it in complete and total abandonment. I stopped the blog, but clearly, not poker.

That being said, let me tell you what’s been happening lately.

By the twists of life, I ended up creating a new account on GG Poker with a different agent here in my country, and I decided to start over with the same $50 USD I've always had (in true PokerStrategy 2006 style).

I joined the Zeros School for a while and consumed a lot of their content, which is great for starting to grind, getting a better understanding of the game, and grinding properly.

I balanced poker alongside my job, generating extra income but never touching the bankroll since I fortunately didn't need that money.

I managed to scale the bankroll to around $500 - $600 USD thanks to winnings at the tables, flipout tournaments, and rakeback, mostly.

In November of last year, I decided to join and pay for the "Grinder" membership of a well-known Brazilian YouTuber who speaks English, Saulo Costa. $588 for a year of access (my Solana profits covered the membership).

In December, I was told I would be losing my job after 7 years at the company, so I decided to take this as an opportunity to go all-in with poker.

I decided to study his course full-time, and honestly, the content is of very high quality. He also has a Discord, where he shares weekly insights on different spots based on MDA, Nodelocking in GTO Wizard, among other tools that help elevate my understanding of the game to levels I never imagined.

I started setting daily routines as well, including gym workouts, study time, and grinding sessions, taking advantage of drills on GTO Base while I work on getting a GTO Wizard subscription. Fully utilizing the knowledge of how to exploit fish (I highly recommend this module from Saulo's content).

And well, as you can see in the results, I'm currently playing between Winamax and GG Poker, mixing NL5 and NL10. I'll share the results below. I’ll also share some hands and other things soon.

Current Bank GG Poker: $1200.28
Current Bank Winamax: €559.2

I also play on a local website (Betplay.com.co) where I prefer not to disclose my results and bankroll.
