MGM TR SS PLO

Played 2/5 NL and 1-2 5 card PLO at MGM this past weekend. Sat down short handed 2/5 NL first hand dealt QhQd MP raise to $25, 4 callers. Flop 356 all clubs. SB check, I check, cutoff bets $75, button calls, small blind CR to $175 I fold faster than the energizer bunny. Button and SB eventually get all in after cutoff folds, button had JcQc, SB had 33. Cutoff had 4c. Board does not pair and button wins. After that I raise Ah2h EP, SB raises I call, flop T86 c/c. Turn T i figure he has nothing bet 1/3 pot he calls. River 9, c/c he wins with AK. I decided to move to a newly started 5-5 5 card PLO.

When I get there they hadn’t even started yet and the dealer says “rock”? I didn’t want to play that big but I also didn’t want to ruin everyone’s game so i just didn’t say anything and it was a 5-5-15. Table was all regs, one guy was saying how he made two final tables at WSOP, had 70 pocket pairs but only flopped one set etc. After calling raises and whiffing a few times never winning a pot, down a few hundred I move to a 1-2 5 card PLO.

It was a pretty good table although there were a lot of regs. First semi interesting hand I call a raise with A89TJ with a suit. Flop A84. I c/c $50. Turn 2 c/c. River 8. I check he bets $150 i beat him to the pot he shows AA, then another guy says he folded an 8. So I am having a pity party for myself about getting 1 outed to make sure I lose a big river bet. I probably would have folded any other river to a PSB.

Then i raise $25 off a pretty short stack of $300 with AAxxx suited diamonds. 6 callers to TdJd9h. I decide I’m just going with it NFD six ways short anyway I pot all in everyone else calls. Turn 8h river 9d at first I’m excited but then I realize it paired the board. One player goes “Yes yes yes!” and he shows KdQd for flopped nut str8 with redraw hits the str8 flush.

Then I realize I have not won a single pot in probably 2.5 hours. I decide I’m going to go with the next decent situation and either lose and go home or spin it up. I call UTG $5 with QQ224 ds. Several callers then one of the blinds raises to $25, several callers then the guy to my left reraises to $175 obv he has AA. Figure I can win a big one can’t be that bad so I call with about $200 behind. 4 callers. Flop comes T53r. I pot it for my remaining stack. 3 callers. Turn is a 2. Initial reraiser checks, next guy pots it one other guy calls other fold for the side pot. River is a 2. I end up winning the main obv, both other players had turned the nut straight.

I’ve tabled my hand, but the dealer is pushing up the straight using the 3 board cards and I start saying “no wait a minute i win the main i have quads” and one of the other guys who folded not even in the hand anymore says something like “you have to wait”. I’m like WTF are you talking about the main pot goes first then they can do the side pot. Very annoying.

Then another very annoying thing happened. The guy in the 8 seat next to the dealer starts saying things to the dealer like “you’re losing money” and “all those big pots, what do you make $1 or $2” and “deal me the winning hand and i’ll tip you a lot”. Then he goes on to say that when he wins he tips $50 to $100 (which is complete bullshit obviously). But he was trying to shame players who don’t tip enough in his opinion?? Wtf very annoying. I was thinking that he doesn’t have to wait to tip, if he wants the dealers to make more money he can just tip every hand. But I just don’t bother and pick up after winning a few more hands.
