Omaha Accountability Thread
I'm making this thread mainly to hold myself accountable so I don't tilt.
I'm currently playing PLO 10 and have been havi
Played some 25PLO went on a a downswing but then swung back up. Gonna stop playing for the day. Will add $300 to my bankroll and start playing at 25PLO from now on. -$190 for the day. Really should avoid going for the poker martingale. There are so many whales at higher stakes but it's just not worth it when there's so much variance. If i'm playing 25PLO from now on, I'm down only around 8 buyins which really isn't a huge deal. For the day I only went down around 300 bbs or so it's just that it was at higher stakes

I would check flop and try to get a free card. If you're going to bet, you can try betting small. I think facing a pot vs check, you have to fold. But the way you play it, I think you have to go with it. Although I don't think we're running into worse hands very often here even though this hand potentially blocks some run downs with a 9.

I think if there's any street here to raise, it's flop. Otherwise, you have a good hand to call turns and rivers with given your blockers and I don't think raising the turn accomplishes much. If you just call turn, you keep your opponent's range wide and can call off some bluffs.
Played some 25PLO last night and tonight. I'm now down by only around 1 25PLO buy in. Around $30. Which feels a lot better than - $200
Will post a couple interesting hands below. I feel they're both coolers but maybe I made the wrong decision

In this hand I feel it's pretty unlikely he has a Q and a 4 in his hand. He would have to be playing something like QK 45 double suited, which isn't very likely. maybe AQ34. I got a little lucky turning an 8. I feel it's extremely unlikely he has a Q and an 8 since I'm blocking that with 2 8s, and an 8 has just come down on the board. He's pretty likely to go all in with just a Q since he has to put me on either 44 or 88. Honestly just a really bad cooler imo. Probably shouldn't have been raising this hand from UTG in the first place but hey

In this hand I have him on just 3 of a kind Js. He's betting because he doesn't have the flush draw and I figured it was worth it to call his turn bet and then call on a safe heart card. Q usually would be a fold since he likely has made a full house with Js full of Qs, but since I have a Q in my hand I thought I should call since I'm blocking him also having a Q and my K high flush was likely good. Unfortunately he had a full house anyway and took down the pot with Js full. This one is a little less of a cooler and maybe I over thought things. But I think this is a pretty savvy call and I would probably make the same call again
I guess the question I have to ask is how often he's going to bluff in this spot rather than just checking and giving up. Especially when he know I've either called him with 44, or a flush draw and have now made my hand

Fold pre. Guess postflop is ok, not exactly GTO but ok.

Fold pre. Flop should prolly CB blocking a lot of Jx with our hand, also blocking KK and QQ. As played, turn should fold, don't think calling to hit a non-nut flush on a paired board is a great gameplan. River, well I guess you got here so you can call blocking a fullhouse as you say, but really when people take this line, how often is it a bluff? Basically you misplayed every street except perhaps river, which you arguably misplayed anyways lol.
Daily update:
Pretty swingy day. Had large periods of breaking even. Finally had a huge 7 buy in supswing followed by a pretty big 3 buy in downswing. Ended the day a bit above even, since I received my rakeback. Completely dug myself out of that $200 hole within a few days which feels pretty good. Not that I'm intending on doing that again anytime soon. Or ever. Hopefully will get back to grinding up my bankroll. Don't know if it's just the game of PLO that causes these swings or if I need to tighten my game up a bit. I think I'm definitely calling down a little bit wide and calling too many river bets. If I tighten up in this area it may mitigate the downswings by a bit and help the upswings stick. I'm feeling pretty good about how things are going. I know my past self would have got frustrated by large stretches of breaking even and ended up making bad plays that turn a break even session into a massively losing session. But I stuck in there and finally caught an upswing to end the day up by about half a buy in.
Daily Update:
Been running pretty bad. Can't win a 50/50. Can't even win a 70/30. And definitely not winning any 30/70s or 40/60s. And everyone wants to run only one time. Down $40 for the day
Been forgetting to post in the thread. I'm up around $90 for the weekend. Been playing mostly 25PLO. Starting to notice some of the things I was getting away with at 5 and 10 PLO aren't working as well at these stakes. These players aren't as willing to be steamrolled. Gonna buy a subscription to PLO/genius and start studying certain hands post session. Got called on a few bluffs today, took a couple really bad beats, plus lost a big pot where I likely would have doubled up due to a misclick, I folded top set. Considering all that I think I did well to end the day up by a bit

How loose is MP and BTN playing? How likely are you going to get HU with this hand? Pros and cons of squeezing vs call? Why did you choose to cb ~90% pot? What does that sizing accomplish?
