PLO . I'll learn along the way .

I have not played poker for many years now . I just got sick of playing to be fair . However i have had an itch to get back playing , this time for fun .
After checking out the state of various poker sites , i was surprised to find out that Pokerstars is no longer the busiest . So GGpoker it is i guess.
My poker background was mostly playing Heads op SNGs , the odd tournament and some zoom cash . All NL Holdem .

So why PLO ? Why not . I do love a challenge . I have a decent understanding of the game and i'll learn as i go .

Starting Bankroll = $200 . I will start by playing $5.00 @ 40 buy ins , see how i go .

40 buy-ins is fairly aggressive for PLO. You may be better off getting to grips with it at the $2 game and then take shots.

I think it's fine at 5PLO, as long as you move down if you go below like 100. You could start at 2PLO too and move up once you hit 250, and then take shots when you have like 400 at PLO10... It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you move down in time, and of course you need to have an edge in the games you play...

Good luck!

Change of plan . As this is for fun I am only going to deposit $80 and try run it up to $8000 . Below is my shot taking guide .. This should be fun , and if I bust
So be it , I can start again

First hand is pretty bad tbh.

First hand is pretty bad tbh.

Had already seen him make a few questionable plays . Fish got excited Top pair back door flush draw and a gut shot lol .. yeah looking at it now , wasn't the best play

not to rag on since Masq pointed it out already but bet/calling post flop is a big fundamental mistake, your pair of 10's is borderline worthless and any time you're up against a fd(which will happen v frequently) your equity is essentially dead

calling out of sb pre isn't anywhere near as bad but small mistakes snowball

gl with your challenge!

Thanks for the replies ! Replayed that hand a few times on pokercraft today And not really sure what my thinking was here ? But luckily got a way with it and looking forward to hopefully getting in a few hundred hands tonight . Think I'm going to stick with one table of rush for now see how it goes .. GL

Got in from work late tonight , felt tired playing and ended up with killer sore head , stopped playing
at 219 hands with a nice little $7.41 profit . Back at it tomorrow night GL

Tonight short session

Don't overvalue pocket pairs (unless it's AAxx of course and you're getting a lot of your stack in preflop). TT might be a good starting hand in NLH, but in PLO it's not as good.

Set over set situations can happen fairly often so it's probably good to try and cut small pocket pairs from your range as you may find yourself being the guy holding the smaller set.

You also want to play hand which are connected without many gappers. ATT9 / AJTT is obviously much better than ATT8 which is less connected.

Having redraws is also quite an important part of the game in multiway spots.

I did actually misread MP's stack and thought you were donking pot into 2 players. It's still not a great spot considering how hard it is for your hand to improve and the chances of being against an overpair.

Really struggling to get in more hand's midweek . Thought about maybe 2 tabling but not to confident , maybe
give it a go this weekend when i am not to tired from work .

310 hands tonight $9.57 profit

Bankroll = $112.64
