Making myself accountable.
Hi 2+2, I'm Yewth, 28 from canada.
I want to start this blog to make myself accountable and share my progress. Had pretty bad results in the past due to no discipline and vision so I thought starting a thread might be a good idea.
Quick back story:
I played poker on and off for the last 8 years, first 4 complete fish just for fun. Then during covid I took it "seriously". Played a lot but lacked discipline to study etc.
Played 4k MTTs form 2020-2023 at micros. Ended up slight winner like 10% ROI.
2023-2024 took a break because I had to fix stuff in my life + got a new job that was very demanding 45h+ a week.
May 2024 to Sept 2024 - Really wanted to play but played online cash since no time for MTT sessions. This time I did study hard on RIO and 10x my game. I played 90k hands of NL5/NL10 and with 10bb/100 WR (reg tables).
Was very happy with results, obviously low volume but was still proud. The thing is I didn't enjoy cash game much, would kinda force myself to play towards the end. I was always curious what kind of results I could get now that I'm a lot better at the game, I know MTTs are different but still. I took a break from the game from Sept 2024 to today because work was just too much.
Last month I changed job, best move ever, I now work 32h a week for same pay so I now have time to play MTTs.
My goals are:
- Study everyday (1 BBZ video + 1h range training preflop)
- Play 3 sessions a week. Lowish volume for now, 8 table max because I want to focus on applying concepts I learn, mark hands etc.
- Post here after every sessions + occasional post on what learn during study.
Voluntarily didn't post goals about a stake I want to reach etc because with variance it can be frustrating, I just want to put my head down and results will follow.
Semi-long term goal is to increase volume at the end of summer so 4 sessions a week with more tables etc.
I'm starting at ABI 10$ with 200 buy ins on GG/PS/PP/888.
I don't claim to be good at the game or anything. I will probably post a lot of questionable plays and bad applications of theory. That's the whole point for me it's to share my journey in full transparency.
