Br Challenge+ Fight against myself
Hey, I’m 26 years old and have been playing poker since I was 18, so for quite a while now. But for the past 4 years or so, I’ve basically just been gambling, more or less, which led to me losing money that I didn’t even have, causing financial pressure. I never followed bankroll management and would tilt and play Spins & Gos or gamble in the casino.
Since then, I’ve also gained a lot of weight and I’m now at 110kg. But I’ve reached a point where I want to change everything — I can’t keep living like this. I'm starting to focus on my poker game again, trying to actually keep my bankroll for longer than 2 days, and I want to start working out again.
For the past 3 weeks or so, I’ve at least been dieting and have gotten down to 102kg. But even though I’ve made some progress with my weight, my gambling behavior hasn’t changed. On one hand, I finally want to start making some money with poker — not as my main income, but just as a side hustle — and on the other hand, I don’t want to ruin my life or my girlfriend’s life.
The plan is as follows: go to the gym 6 times a week, count my calories, and start grinding NL10 with a $220 bankroll. I’m also working hard on my mental game because that’s one of the main reasons I’ve been a losing player — I tilt after every stupid hand.
