Building the bankroll - NL25 and Up

Thought i’d start a thread in this forum because i really enjoy reading other people’s stories.

I’ve for a goal to build a bankroll, and hopefully an income from Poker. I play Nl25 right now, and have built a bankroll $450 in just over a week. Since starting this little venture, i’ve been averaging about 30-50bb/100hands in each session I’ve played. I feel pretty comfy playing my game on Nl25.

I’d like to be able to play higher stakes, but I’m not willing to risk taking that shot without more practise on NL25 and a bankroll of around $1000 built from Nl25.

First session of this thread:

17/06/25
1.72 hours, 211 hands, +$37.94, 72.21bb/100

Started this session by losing a buy in on a preflop all in QQs vs AKo within the first 30 hands. Then went on to smash 2 pre flop all ins within the next 50 hands and winning another 60bb off a 3 bet pot.

After that kind of coasted til the end of the session not really playing any big pots and maintaining the stack.

Easy to see this was just a nice session, cards ran good and got my money in when it was good.

Will hop back on later tonight as i’m working for a bit soon, and see if we can get a nice session in.

Just finished up a 2nd session for today.

Session 2: 17/06/25

2:33 hours, 343 hands, -$5.14, -6.03bb/100

After today’s earlier session, guess the dealer wasn’t feeling me aha. No real hands of note tbh, bounced between a low of 75bb and a high of 120bb through the session. Got dealt some premiums a few times but wasn’t able to play them. Sucks as well because at one point the average pot on the table was $7 and I wasn’t able to get involved.

There was one hand actually against a big ole bass fish, with pocket Ks in a SRP, two As come on the flop and the guy donk bets, decide a flop call is fair, and he double barrels the turn. Laughed about it and folded, wasn’t gonna be the guy who fed the fish, which funnily enough the top stack at the table had done a few hands before doubling up the fish’s stack to a menacing 60bbs.

Still, nice to know even when the cards aren’t flowing, I don’t bleed massively, just coast for a few hours and accept these slow periods of play.

Shout out a guy on the table called Shuckle (elite name) though, said he recognised my user from this forum and wished me the best. Played a few low ish pots against him and he had me on a good one for around 20bbs. Good luck to you bro, cool interaction.

Should be back tomorrow with some play, cheers

Nice playing with u 😀
