Beginner Micro-Stakes Grinder Looking to Build Bankroll
Hey everyone!
I’ve been playing poker casually for years but just started taking it seriously. I recently (by recent I mean last week) playing online MTT’s and I think I’m doing pretty fair. Since I’ve been trying to fit 2 of 3 tournaments a day and I think I’ve done around 15 in 7 days! So far I’ve had some amazing run, I’ll be posting my highlights on this thread.
I still have a lot to learn and I’m trying to improve every day. My bankroll is small but I’m dedicated to studying, playing smart, and growing it.
Eventually, I’d love to explore live games since I live in Vegas , and micro-stakes staking once I have some results to show. Let’s get to work!

This was the first time I ever paid to join a tournament. I didn’t fully understand how it worked but I just stuck with it and played how I usually played. By the time I reached the final table the other players were surprised that it was my first paid tournament. Now I get why, MTT’s are hard. At the time I was just happy to earn some cash. Little did I know I’d be hooked!

The second tournament I ever played was this one. I had to search up why it was called a satellite. I thought it was because there were different venues we’d play at (honestly I still don’t understand why it’s called satellite). All I know is this gives me the chance to enter tournaments in a cheaper way

Just wanted to share a little win for myself—finished 13th out of 1,543 players in a tournament on ClubWPT. It’s the deepest I’ve ever gone in a big MTT, and I’m still kind of buzzing from the run.
I think this tournament taught me a lot about I need to work on. During the later stages of the tournament I started holding not thinking how many BB I have left until event I kinda found short stacked. Also when I saw that I reach the top 15 I stated to slightly panic and the anxiety got to me. I was doing the shove fold strategy to try and cope with my short stacks I ended up shoving on a 66 even though my gut was telling me know. It was an emotional decision that cost me the tournament .
Such is life but I have to keep grinding

This was my best finish in a tournament yet but I was so disheartened by it. I was leading the tournament for the most part. I had more than double the stack compared to the guy in 2nd . But during the final table a friend of mine called me and we started talking. I got so detracted that I ended up leaving missing some calls, and missed some opportunities to raise. This ended up costing me a third of my stack. I wasn’t able to recover after. I’m still glad I finished 5th but I know if I was focused, I would’ve been able to finish 1st. It’s safe to say I won’t be answering calls when I’m in the stages of the tournament .
