Aggressive live shot taking until I go broke
I play at a very large reg heavy room, and am trying to move in to live after playing 100NL online for years. I've played ~150h of 1/3 this year and am winning $20/hr so would like to try 2/5. I'll post feedback and interesting hands periodically.
Tips, feedback, questions, etc. appreciated.

I am replying here so that I can keep track of this thread.
Good luck
Thanks all, I'll update on the last two sessions. I appreciate the interest, and also post a hand from 1/3 that's bothering me.
I had limited time but sat for 2/5, it was a totally wild game because a guy was punting. He spewed maybe 6k. He was 3 betting sort of wild, and making very very large overbets. I adjusted and did catch him with a hand, but it was while he was waiting for the chip cart after punting. I made only $80 off him. That session ended up being -$350 due to that. I wasn't too upset about it, it was not even remotely normal.
Next session was somewhat normal. I played for 5 hours and left +$120.
Hand from that 2/5 session:
AQhh in CO, HJ opens to $15, I make it $60, BTN cold calls, HJ calls
Flop KhTh8c xxx
Turn 6c xx BTN $100, fold, hero $225, call
River 2s
xx
I've been checking much more OOP and especially MW just trying to be a bit harder to play against in these spots. I've had some disagreement with my study group on that at times.
1/3 hand that bothered me went like this. It was the last hand of the day, my friend I was there with agree last orbit, last hand under the gun, KK.
KhKs I open to $20 UTG, BB calls. I haven't played with BB before, and he hadn't played much in the few hours I was there. He wasn't who I expected to be in the hand with. He was a reg.
Flop 5c5d3s x hero $25, call
Turn 9c x hero $75, call
River 8d, villain donk jams for ~$200, I folded. He shows 6c4c.
I feel pretty torn up about this one. I understand the donk jam is polar, but with 76 getting there and the paired board, I didn't feel like I could call. I think at 1/3 I've lost quite a bit bluff catching river in similar situations. If it was a smaller jam I call, or if he lead for $100 I call without hesitation. If the straight didn't complete I call. If he showed A5 or something and my fold was good I wouldn't be losing sleep over it, but I feel pretty beat up about it currently.
I'll go back to 2/5 a couple times this week and post some more.
Pretty sure I overcall in spots like that too. I think the fold is completely fine unless you had some indication he was a wild player.
Any validity to checking turn to induce bluffs/hero calls on the river? Not likely getting 3 streets of value on that board. You are giving a free card to the str8 draws then however, but the busted str8 draws should bluff the river some % helping to make up for that.
Good luck at the 2/5
Decent +$260 session over 5h.
Bit of a rough MW scenario:
UTG limps, +1 raise $25, I call in BB with KsJs
Flop: 3h7sTs +1 bet $55, both call
Turn: 9c +1 bets $225, I fold, other player calls.
None of my outs are to the actual nuts and with a player left to act on the turn and a bet of that size MW, it didn't feel right to call there.

Why not raise with this hand from the BB? Would be more EV than taking a pot MW out of position.
You're overall seems too passive.

This player very very rarely raised and usually limped. So I was likely against the top of his range. Opted to just call. Thank you for the feedback I appreciate it.

The non spade queens give you the nuts and the 8s are pretty close too given QJ and Q8 shouldn't be in the hand.
It's an ugly spot I'd agree. If you were deep enough and thought there was a decent chance he'd fold an overpair I like shoving. But you'd probably need something like 600+ behind to make this viable.
nah folding turn is not a thing there, gotta peel this turn
Had a decent +$110 session, made some mistakes. Two missed draws, and didn't get paid with my strongest hands.
Massive overplay:
A7cc cold call vs $25 UTG open, goes 4 handed to the flop, I'm HJ
Flop 7s5h2h UTG makes it $50, I make it $200, fold fold, call. HU.
Ended up getting lucky and chopped with AA. Runner runner straight. Silly by me, should have just called there but thought I should put money in while I'm potentially ahead.
Ran pretty hot lately, +$1500. 43 hours so far. I'll play another ~100 hours and if it's going well, try 10/10.
youre firing 1/3 with a 50k roll? Cmon....
When I got back to live this year, I hadn't played anything larger than 1/2. I wanted to start with 1/3 so I can get used to live and see if I'm playing profitably. Even with a larger BR I wanted to do things correctly and make my mistakes cheaply before going up. I didn't want to be scared money or skip a step by going right to 2/5. I also didn't know what to expect in terms of skill level, but I heard repeatedly the skill level wasn't much different. That seems like it was largely correct.
Currently I play 1/3 with one of my friends who just started playing. Otherwise 2/5. Thanks for the comment
Excellent timing on that actually. -$1200, macd a bad call on. Paired board with an overpair. Not smart. He showed up with 65o in a 3bp.
