The Biggest Bankroll Challenge - From 0 to $1,000,000

I am il Capitano. I'm from Argentina and one day I'll be the best poker player in the world.

On June 12th 2025 I started the biggest Bankroll Challenge, from 0 to $1,000,000.

I used to play Spin & Go's. Won between 10K a 15K USD. Now I start with tournaments and multi-table SNG. I will also play Cash in the future. My initial bank is 22.60 US Dollars. Why that number you may ask. That's the amount I earned in the last performance of my play, called Humo. Yeah I'm also an actor. I divided the initial bank: $12.60 in PokerStars.com and $10 in YaPoker (Winning Poker Network).

This are my Sharkscope graphs before the start of the Challenge:

PokerStars.com (I was a big winner in Spins but Sharkscope didn't track all of them):

YaPoker:

Winamax:

It's gonna be a long ride. Come join me!

By the way, I have a YouTube channel (in spanish): https://www.youtube.com/@ilcapitaaano874
There you can follow my career.

I started this Challenge playing 45 Players SNG in PokerStars ($0.25 buy-in) and Multi-table SNG in YaPoker ($0.55 buy in).
Won many and several final tables. My bank in Stars is now $24.81 (initial bank was $12.6) and my bank in YaPoker is $23.34 (initial was 10 bucks). So the profit is +$25.55.

I got to a heads-up and played this hand...

PokerStars - 500/1000 Ante 60 NL - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 57.07 BB
Hero (BB): 10.43 BB

2 players post ante of 0.06 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.62 BB) Hero has J J

SB calls 0.5 BB, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, SB calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (5.12 BB, 2 players) 6 2 2
Hero bets 1.5 BB, SB calls 1.5 BB

Turn: (8.12 BB, 2 players) 4
Hero checks, SB checks

River: (8.12 BB, 2 players) A
Hero checks, SB bets 10.31 BB, Hero calls 6.37 BB and is all-in

SB shows 6 A (Two Pair, Aces and Sixes)
(Pre 32%, Flop 24%, Turn 11%)
Hero shows J J (Two Pair, Jacks and Twos)
(Pre 68%, Flop 76%, Turn 89%)
SB wins 20.85 BB

I think it's standard. I block hearts and he will flat many 2 overcards on the flop.

Just played a session. 4 Final Tables at the same time, that was fun. Got a 7th place, 4th and two 2nd places. Lost a huge flip in the biggest.

Profit now is +$31.56

I have doubts with this hand:

I folded. The guy sitting out has 0.5 big blinds. I decided to fold and ladder. Also a couple more players have 50% of my stack.

Here's my PS graph:

I don't share the YaPoker graph 'cause it's really inaccurate.

With that victory plus some other scores my bank in PS is now $32.66 so I move up in stakes. From $0.25 to $0.5 MT SNG. Those are now turbo by the way.

On another final table I had a huge chip lead and lost AA vs AQ. What u gonna do?

This challenge is moving up way faster than I imagined.

GL!

Thanks pal!

Don't know if I grind today. My cat is really sick. We've been taking him to the vet. Seems pretty serious. He seems to be in a lot of pain, crying, without being able to walk without falling down. Tough moment.

I would have folded with those 55 as well, they don't play good postflop and you have too many blinds to go allin pre. Those kinda spots are good to check with software cuz no human can make ICM calculations in their head like that. you just have to practice and get an intuition.

Good luck

Thanks mate! Although I do think you can shove for 12.6bb here. But because ICM I do like the fold.

I even shove pocket pairs for like 15bb. It's not bad. Maybe when my postflop is better I can decide to play them instead.

Oliver (my cat) died yesterday. One of the saddest moments of my life. He was a true companion. Didn't play yesterday, of course, and not gonna play today. We have tu bury him. Tomorrow I'm back on the horse.

Sorry to hear about your cat bro. I’ve always been a dog guy but did have a cat and they’re cool too. I’ve sat with 2 of my dogs when they passed away and it was incredibly tough, I feel for you. Good luck with your challenge and life…very big goal but it’s possible!!

Thanks mate! Yeah I also had a dog who died, in 2020 (awful year). I sat next to the body for 2 hours, crying.

Yesterday I play a session, went good. Profit is +$39.88.

Yeah it's a big challenge. Impossible is nothing!

The Challenge started really well. Initial bank was $22.60 and after 144 games the current bank is $59.96. I'm afraid the upswing's gonna end soon. Can't last forever.

The SNG I play are turbo. I max late reg them. Started studying open shoving ranges with 10-15bb. Next step is to study re-steal ranges (on the blinds and button).

By the way today is my birthday. I turn 30. Man I'm old.

And for those of you who speak spanish I invite you to watch my latest vlog:

Happy birthday from one young 30s future millionaire to another!!

Thanks man! One can only hope.

Umm, wat?

We’ve got 12.5BBs n the CO, only BTN covers, 55 is a fist pump jam.

Best of luck OP, don’t be afraid to apply pressure and pick up chips without showdown, that’s how you become a crusher.

For chipEV sure, snap shove. For ICM not sure. Read what I wrote.

Sorry didn't really read what you said. Sure it's true only BU covers me. I don't know. The problem is that to really know these spots I have to buy HRC or ICMizer and I don't have the money for that LOL.

Here's the 55 spot Nash range:

But it's not realistic that SB and BB would play such tight ranges on these stakes. If you only add a few premium hands to their ranges the CO range starts looking like this

Thanks. Yeah it's really close. I should relly buy ICMizer or HRC when I get to mid-stakes. But for now we just gotta figure it out.

I have doubts with this hand...

We are far away from the bubble. The player that raises is a 11/10 in 90 hands. He's not raising 3x with AK, 99 or KQ. Am I being a huge nit if I consider to fold here? I feel this is a type of fold Phil Hellmuth makes and then wins every bracelet.

90 random hands is far too small of a sample to make such conclusions, I would snap all in here.

The only way im ever considering folding if I have a note on villain that the last 5+ times he isod 3x he had QQ+, and never AK.

Thanks.

Week was ok. Many victories like this one:

Also a lot of final tables. Although last 2 days a downswing of 12 buy-ins on PS. But overall things are fantastic. The profit is +$58.14
