Hold'em NL5 grind Journal
So where do I start? I start writing that English is not my main language, I'm from Italy, so I'm sorry if some word are misspelled, or if a sentence is not grammatically correct. Maybe I can improve also my English during this experience and I really hope you can understand and don't make a joke out of it, be kind and mature guys with me.
Easy, I work a full time job and since many years poker was a passion. From the University here, where a start play micro stakes regularly, I feel something about poker, not just the game itself, it was more about the studies, the math, the logic, the strategies and the way that someone can earn edge on other players studying and understanding what's really going on on every play and during the session.
There are so many variable in this game that you can control, the mindset, the bankroll management, seems like the play itself is only the peak of an iceberg and this is what most fascinates me in this game.
So know here is the why of this thread: I'm going to post on here at least once a week, with some additional post if after a session or my studies I need to write about something. This want to be also some sort of inspiration for others that want to start their journey starting from the micros, and build some sort of community/group study.
Talking about my gaming plan is really easy to explain:
- Playing 5-6 days a week at list 1,5 hour multitabling 4 tables normally from 9pm (this is what a can manage for now), this way I can play around 400 hand per session.
- I'm currently play on Pokerstars, thing that I'm reconsidering because there's no rakeback on this site.
- I Use Holdem Manger 3 for HUD and I have GTO+ for reviewing session.
- I'm trying to keep an eye on the mindset, with a 30 minutes timer during my session to stop for a few moment and mentally review what's going on.
- I blocked every kind of distraction when I play, no phone call (people around me know that I am not available during this time, and only a few can call me if something really important needs to be communicated)
- During session I've got paper and pen to note what I noticed that is going on, like mental state, situation I have difficulties with, etc, so when a review my session I can take a look at those things and try to understand how to solve them.
So, this is it for now, if you think I should add something to this journal feel free to write it down.
Hope someone can find this inspirational and I hope as I said a community of micro grinders to help each other.
Happy grind to everyone and see you on the next post.
