Chasing High Stakes -- Blog of an 18yo Grinder
Hey guys,
I’m 18 from Uruguay and decided to start this blog to share my poker journey and a bit of my life.
Since I was very young, I knew I didn’t want a “normal job” that I’d hate going to every day. A big part of my motivation comes from my mother, who I sadly lost in 2020 when I was 13. She’s always been my biggest inspiration, and I carry that drive with me in everything I do — poker included.
I found poker online and immediately fell in love with the strategy and mental challenge. I started from small deposits, moved to PokerStars, climbed from NL2, and today I’m playing NL25/NL50. My dream is to reach high stakes one day, with a short-term goal of taking shots at NL200 before I turn 20.
This year I moved to the capital of my country to study Computer Engineering. Honestly, uni doesn’t excite me much, and next year I’ll probably take a break from it to give poker a more serious shot. For now, I’m balancing studies with ~20k hands/month and 6h of study per week.
I’ll be posting updates on my grind, graphs, and thoughts here. Thanks for reading, and GL at the tables!
